Laz Tem'Zul is Tavza's Dao Guardian, an older Draugr Monarch who handles diplomacy, strategic risk, and cultivation crises for the Abyssal Shores delegation.

Biography

Role in the wider conflict

Laz enters the mission as Tavza's senior protector and a permanent Abyssal Shores resident. When their attempt to identify Zac's nature causes offense, Laz takes responsibility, offers compensation, and reframes Tavza's bluntness to preserve a valuable connection. He later arranges experts for newly recruited sealbearers and orders the forcibly advanced Boje to stop consuming resources until his damaged foundation is purified. As political pressure closes around Tavza, Laz counsels that intimidation may not become war and helps investigate her damaged pathways. Communication with both disappears before hostile Autarchs arrive, leaving his final fate unresolved. (Chapters 935, 949–950, 1076, 1114, and 1209–1214)

Laz is an older male Draugr and Monarch. His curt introduction, restrained speech, and willingness to absorb diplomatic blame show a disciplined guardian who protects Tavza without flattering her.
