Karunthel

Karunthel is the Creator Shipyard's sentient foreman and foremost technical expert, an experimental spider construct whose enthusiasm for dangerous engineering is constrained by the facility's rules.

Biography

Role in the wider conflict

Karunthel arrives under restrictions imposed after destructive experiments, immediately negotiates paid modifications, and acknowledges that he may not destroy islands or continents on a baby world. He steadily expands the shipyard's protection, builds quests for Zac, and helps design increasingly powerful vessels while refusing impossible combinations such as a Life-and-Death Chaosengine. His advice warns that hurried opportunities produce unstable craft. That professional relationship fractures when Zac discovers a hidden tracker installed during vessel modifications, suggesting Karunthel and Rahm protected Creator interests without informed consent and leaving the foreman's loyalty under suspicion. (Chapters 71, 475, 532, 856, 1108, 1185, and 1224)

Appearance and personality

Karunthel is a large spider-shaped construct with mechanical eyes and, later, a powerful cannon mounted on his torso. He is irreverent, commercially minded, experimental, and proud of Creator designs. His jokes and casual tone coexist with experienced, sometimes callous judgments about war and cultivation. (Chapters 71, 475, and 1185)

Abilities and cultivation

He specializes in ship design, alloys, system upgrades, shields, and the compatibility between materials and vessel attunements. The mounted cannon suggests significant combat potential, but operational rules prevent him from simply attacking enemies outside the shipyard's mandate. His exact artificial grade is not confirmed. (Chapters 475, 532, and 856)

Items

The torso cannon is integrated into Karunthel's body. The Creator Shipyard is his workplace and operational domain, not a personal carried item. (Chapter 475)

Relationships

Karunthel works closely with Rahm and mentors or negotiates with Zac as the shipyard develops. Their cooperation produces vital vessels, but the hidden tracker creates a serious breach of trust. (Chapters 532, 856, 1185, and 1224)
