Henry
Henry Marshall is the patriarch of the Marshall Clan, a measured strategist who trains Thea to read hidden consequences and later turns from old-world politics toward personal cultivation.
Biography
Role in the wider conflict
Henry first tests Thea's analysis of a hostile encounter, repeatedly pressing her past obvious details until she can infer motives and consequences. He applies the same discipline as clan leader: seeks peaceful contact with the Zhix, convenes the undead-war coalition, weighs public legitimacy, and plans for betrayal after the Incursions close. Thea's death removes both his granddaughter and the clan's martial pillar. Henry advises Zac against reckless pursuit of Leandra, then accepts that politics without strength has reached its limit. He advances to Late E-grade and continues representing the Marshall Clan during the Atwood Empire's reorganization. (Chapters 138, 293–297, 667, 952, and 1082)
Appearance and personality
Henry is initially a wizened, hunched older man surrounded by documents. Advancing to E-grade restores his apparent age to roughly his fifties. He is deliberate, observant, politically pragmatic, and demanding as a teacher, while grief after Thea's death leaves visible weight without ending his public responsibilities. (Chapters 138, 293, 667, and 952)
Abilities and cultivation
Henry's early strength lies in analysis, diplomacy, and organization. After Thea's death he focuses on the martial path, reaches Late E-grade, and develops a deep aura, though his class, Dao, and combat techniques are not confirmed. (Chapters 296–297 and 952)

Relationships
Thea is Henry's granddaughter, student, and the former pillar of their clan. His alliance with Zac combines gratitude, strategic dependence, and grief over choices surrounding Thea's death. (Chapters 138, 293–297, 667, and 952)
