Trin

Trin is a name used for two characters whose identities the corpus never connects: an older Central Academy wind-magic professor and a young-looking Neverfall Clan swordsman. Their different worlds, roles, appearances, and power systems are preserved separately here rather than treated as one continuous biography.

Biography

Professor Trin at Central Academy

Professor Trin supervises practical sparring at Central Academy and recognizes the apparent student Raze as resembling the Dark Magus blamed for the scar on his face. During Aurora and Kelly's match, his confidence in controlling the exercise leads him to permit an escalating combination until it explodes. Forced to choose, he protects the larger student group while Raze Cromwell shields Kelly. Trin accepts enough responsibility to demand an apology and prohibit similar combinations, although his private thoughts reveal that influential families shaped whom he prioritized. Neverfall Clan's test

The Neverfall Clan's Trin appears years earlier in Pagna chronology as a black-clad swordsman whom Belil orders to test Raze. He confidently calls the outsider a fraud and overwhelms his initial-stage technique, but Raze adds Dark magic to the Dark Edge arts and forces a much stronger response from Belil. Trin later objects to a proposed marriage between Raze and Rayna, not from an established romance but because he sees no political benefit in giving a clan heir to an unknown outsider. Appearance and personality

Professor Trin is in his sixties but appears roughly thirty, with short light-green hair and a large facial scar. Raze suspects illicit age-altering products, but that cause remains his inference. The professor is proud, status-conscious, and initially defensive about his mistake, yet capable of revising the lesson. Neverfall Trin looks in his mid-twenties to thirties, dresses entirely in black, carries a sword, and speaks with protective suspicion toward outsiders. (Chapters 311–317 and 348–349)

Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Professor Trin is a wind mage capable of quickly reaching an endangered platform and casting Wall of the Mightiest Winds, a large barrier that contains much of an expanding fire-and-wind explosion. His teaching demonstrates familiarity with low-star practical spells and spell combinations. The scene also exposes a limit in judgment and timing: he recognizes the combination's danger only after it is released and cannot protect both Kelly and the assembled students alone. (Chapters 313–315)

Neverfall Trin is a lower-middle-stage Pagna warrior whose sword carries dark-red visual Qi. He moves fast enough to reach Raze before the latter takes position, recognizes Descending Steps and the Devil's Formation, and initially dominates through superior cultivation and technique. Shadow binding and an Eclipse Strike augmented with Dark magic break that easy control, but Belil—not Trin—ultimately answers the most dangerous attack. The corpus gives no later progression for either Trin. (Chapters 348–349)

Relationships

• Raze Cromwell: Professor Trin is unsettled by Raze's resemblance to his old enemy and resents his criticism after the academy accident. Neverfall Trin directly tests Raze and opposes his proposed marriage into the clan.
• Belil: Belil commands Neverfall Trin's test and overrides his political objection, treating Raze's Crimson Crane connection as useful to the clan.
• Rayna: Neverfall Trin argues that Rayna should not marry a stranger without political advantage. The narrator says he would welcome the opportunity himself, but explicitly denies that personal desire is the basis of his objection.
