Mr. Kron

Mr. Kron is the proprietor of a Red Brigade temple that shelters no-name children and teaches them the foundations of Pagna cultivation. He accepts Raze and Safa, recognizes their potential, and gives them the practical training and recommendation that open a path to the Dark Faction Academy. Though not a top-tier warrior, his protection of the temple makes him an early model of authority used for care rather than exploitation.

Biography

Shelter and foundational training

Kron runs the temple as both orphanage and martial school, accepting children according to criteria the newly arrived Raze does not yet understand. He assigns work without exhausting them, teaches daily, tracks improvement privately, and adjusts instruction when bullying disrupts practice. After seeing Raze's potential but inability to cultivate normally, he gives him a rare Qi pill in secret and suggests trying another gathering method rather than discarding him as untalented. That combination of discipline and flexibility gives Raze, Safa, and Simyon their first stable base. (Chapters 5–30)

The Red Brigade attack and academy departure

When Red Brigade members attack the temple to erase witnesses, Kron orders the children to flee and holds the formation around him despite severe wounds. He knows that he never broke through to the Fourth Stage and briefly despairs, but seeing Safa and Simyon fight renews his decision to take down as many attackers as possible for their survival. After the crisis, he and Elder Yon use their connections to recommend the three new First-Stage warriors for the academy. Kron warns them that no-names will face institutional abuse and entrusts Raze with protecting the others. His last direct appearance is this Chapter 71 meeting; later references preserve his lessons but do not establish his subsequent fate. (Chapters 63–74)

Appearance and personality

Kron is a bald, large, monk-like man who wears robes and has a scar running from his chin across his face. His study and temple are maintained more carefully than the children's hand-me-down clothing might suggest, reflecting a proprietor who puts limited resources into stability and instruction. He is stern enough that the temple grows quiet when he enters, yet daily life shows measured rather than arbitrary authority. Kron avoids overworking children, praises genuine improvement, intervenes after mistreatment, and spends scarce resources on pupils who may never repay him. He also understands his limitations: leaving Pagna was partly an admission that he had stopped progressing, while his academy warning comes from experience rather than bitterness alone. Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Third-Stage Pagna cultivation

Kron has a formed dantian and enough Qi to enhance strength, speed, and durability, inspect another person's developing core through touch, crack flooring with a stomp, and kill an armed attacker with a kick. He was once skilled enough to lead the small Red Brigade Clan, but states that he never crossed into the Fourth Stage. His latest direct combat leaves him badly wounded and nearly drained while a coordinated formation of lower-stage warriors holds him down. (Chapters 7, 63–67, and 80)

Instruction and Red Brigade fundamentals

Kron teaches the two-step shift as a foundational footwork pattern that controls distance and can amplify later techniques. He also guides breathing, physical conditioning, dantian formation, and the distinction between cultivation methods and the Qi for which martial skills were designed. Raze can copy the movements but initially lacks compatible Qi, while Safa excels quickly; Kron responds by adapting advice rather than claiming one method suits every student. His pupils continue using or recalling these foundations long after leaving the temple. (Chapters 7–13, 38, 71, and 74)

His fighting style is direct and unarmed in the demonstrated scenes: reinforced punches, kicks, evasions, and muscular endurance rather than a named high-level art. Qi lets him keep swords embedded in his forearms from reaching vital areas, but it does not eliminate injury or exhaustion. No later chapter shows him gaining a new stage, technique, or recovery from the limits exposed during the temple attack. (Chapters 63–67)

Relationships

• Raze Cromwell: Kron sees talent where conventional cultivation tests show failure. His pill, instruction, and academy recommendation help Raze begin using Qi, while his warning about powerful institutions proves accurate.
• Safa: Safa quickly becomes one of Kron's best students. He encourages her ability and helps create the conditions in which she forms a dantian and reaches the academy.
• Simyon: Simyon values the temple as his route to becoming a Pagna warrior. Kron's training and recommendation turn that hope into entry at the academy.
• Elder Yon: Yon and Kron share Red Brigade history and cooperate after the coup. Their connections secure special academy consideration for three no-name children.

Items

• Qi refining pills: Kron gives Raze a rare red pill and insists that he consume it discreetly because of its value. Raze delays using that pill, but the gift demonstrates Kron's willingness to spend a resource that could take someone of his level a lifetime to acquire. (Chapters 11–12 and 71)
