Harmon

Harmon is an Illumination Clan student who competes beside Charlotte in the inter-faction tournament. Their speed and teamwork are enhanced by illicit magical bracelets, leading Raze to intervene and permanently destroy Harmon's ability to cultivate.

Biography

Tournament cheating and permanent defeat

Harmon and Charlotte enter the maze event as a polished pair, using synchronized rapier thrusts to corner Beret and nearly kill him. Raze detects magic in their bracelets and attacks because the equipment violates the tournament's stated martial premise. After separating them, he hunts Harmon through the maze, tears the bracelet off, and drains the Qi from Harmon's dantian without taking his life. Physicians determine that the damage cannot recover and that Harmon will never cultivate again. He remains alive but withdraws from all later events, while his clan frames the loss as an injury requiring vengeance. (Chapters 624–645)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not provide a secure physical description. Harmon fights confidently when Charlotte is beside him and the bracelet gives them an advantage, but freezes in fear when Raze finds him alone. He knows the bracelet has a concealed function and threatens consequences when Raze tries to remove it, indicating conscious participation rather than innocent use.

Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Harmon is trained in the Illumination Clan's light-weapon, speed-based martial style. He uses a rapier, concentrates Qi at its point, and coordinates alternating thrusts with Charlotte until an opponent has no opening. These techniques trade raw impact for speed and precision.

The golden-I bracelet is separate from his innate cultivation. It guides him toward its paired user and contributes magical enhancement to the pair's accelerating coordination. Once Raze removes it and drains his dantian, Harmon has no remaining Qi and cannot cultivate more; the corpus establishes no later restoration.
