Bofan
Bofan Klikola is the Alterian-born founder of the Dark Faction, creator of the Dark Edge Sword Arts, and an eleventh-stage warrior living in the Divine Realm.
Biography
Founding the Dark Faction
Historical accounts identify Bofan as head of the Noctis Clan and the leader who changed the Dark Faction’s direction. Though the faction was considered exceptionally strong, it remained defensive rather than expansionist under him. Having come from Alterian, Bofan learned Pagna’s cultivation and created martial knowledge that could preserve his magical aims even among warriors. (Chapters 253, 728–730)
Protecting the Golden Globe
Bofan creates two versions of the Dark Edge Sword Arts: a Qi-only form and one able to combine Qi with magic. He also establishes an immense, high-level magical barrier around the Golden Globe, intending to prevent mages from obtaining it and using it to endanger either Pagna or Alterian. Later discoveries reveal a planner who loved both worlds and built layered precautions rather than seeking conquest. (Chapters 935–947, 1071)
The Divine Realm
Long believed to have vanished, Bofan is revealed alive in the Divine Realm, where he has been detecting magical ascensions and rescued Safa after her arrival. He explains that he is not naturally a Dark mage but learned Dark magic because it worked well against warriors. At the eleventh stage and unable to defeat the five twelfth-stage rulers alone, he offers to teach Raze everything he knows so they can protect Pagna, Alterian, and the Golden Globe together. (Chapters 1779–1781)
Appearance and personality
The supplied corpus does not give Bofan a sufficiently consistent physical description. His preserved plans and direct conversation portray him as cautious, adaptable, candid about his failures, and deeply committed to protecting both of the worlds that shaped him.
Magic, cultivation, and abilities
Bofan is an Alterian mage who also reached the eleventh stage of Pagna cultivation. He learned Dark magic tactically rather than through a natural Dark core, developed versions of the Dark Edge arts for Qi alone and for magic-Qi integration, built long-lived barriers and linked spaces, and uses elusive spells to enter or leave Divine Realm arrival zones. His Dark Edge is surpassed by Raze’s because Raze possesses a true Dark core. Bofan also admits that his power remains below the Divine Realm’s five twelfth-stage rulers.
Relationships
Bofan was a dear friend of Belil and later rescued Safa. Raze follows Bofan’s historical path, inherits his techniques and safeguards, and finally becomes the ally Bofan has been waiting to train.
Items
Bofan hid and protected the Golden Globe so that it would reach someone who valued both worlds. The corpus establishes his past custody and safeguards, not current possession; Raze leaves the Globe with allies in Pagna before meeting him.
