Anise's Rosary
Anise's Rosary is the sacred rosary Anise Slywood carried throughout her travels with the hero party. It accelerates the recovery of divine power and amplifies miracles, and it later became part of the sacred equipment inherited by Kristina Rogeris. (Chapters 202 and 576)
History
Anise's traveling relic
Anise wore the rosary during the hero party's journey three hundred years earlier. After her death, it was preserved in the Vatican's Special Relics Vault alongside her mace, robe, and Holy Water bottle. When Kristina reclaimed the group of relics, Anise described them as aids for Kristina's journey rather than objects meant to turn her into a replacement Anise. (Chapter 202)
The rosary's original leather string had become faded and worn with age even though its handcrafted cross still shone. Eugene gave Anise a replacement necklace string on her birthday, and she transferred the rosary onto it before wearing it again through Kristina's body. (Chapter 204)
A blessing entrusted to Eugene
Before Eugene went to rescue Sienna from Raizakia, Kristina and Anise filled the Holy Sword and rosary with their power, wishes, and prayers. They placed the rosary around Eugene's neck so that he could carry their blessing into the battle. It worked together with the Holy Sword to shield him from harm, purify Raizakia's poison, and support the divine power passing through his body. (Chapters 295 and 297–299)
Eugene returned the rosary after the battle, placing it back around Kristina's neck. Kristina continued using it as a focus for prayers and miracles, and she still wore and clutched it when the Divine Army completed its preparations for the final war. (Chapters 304, 362, and 576)
Abilities and properties
- Merely holding the rosary accelerates the recovery of divine power and increases the strength of miracles. (Chapter 202)
- It can receive and preserve the Saints' wishes, prayers, and divine power for another wearer. This allowed Eugene to carry their blessing while separated from them. (Chapter 295)
- In conjunction with the Holy Sword, its Light protected Eugene and purified the poison affecting him during the fight with Raizakia. (Chapter 297)
- The rosary resonates visibly during prayer, gathering its glow into forms suitable for a miracle and allowing Anise's divine power to support Kristina's. (Chapters 287, 293, and 362)
- Its amplification does not remove the physical risks of overwhelming divine output. Eugene still approached death while channeling extreme power through the rosary, Holy Sword, and Ring of Agaroth. (Chapter 299)
- The cross endured for centuries, but its ordinary leather string deteriorated and required replacement. (Chapter 204)
