Melkith El-Hayah
Melkith El-Hayah is the White Tower Master of Aroth and an Archwizard whose Spirit King contracts make her the foremost spirit summoner of her era. Her theatrical behavior often obscures a sharp magical intellect, and her instruction, battlefield support, and overwhelming Signatures repeatedly aid Eugene Lionheart and his allies. (Chapters 43, 221, 290, 473, and 625)
Biography
The White Tower and the Unanswered Wind
Melkith first approaches Eugene in Akron after abstaining from the vote on his admission, openly admitting that her real interest lies in the Storm Sword Wynnyd and the Wind Spirit King connected to it. Her desire is not a passing curiosity: she has admired the contracted wind power of Vermouth Lionheart since childhood and trades the use of her cherished Cloak of Darkness for time with Wynnyd. The attempt ends in humiliation when Tempest refuses her summons, leaving Eugene with the cloak for nine years under their magical contract, but Melkith does not abandon her ambition. (Chapters 43, 48–52)
When Eugene returns to Aroth, Melkith initially frames spirit-magic lessons as another route to Wynnyd, then offers to teach him without payment after recognizing his potential. She supplies a specially prepared lightning flame, erects the barrier for his experiments, and helps interpret the unprecedented fusion of lightning with his mana even though the intended spirit contract never forms. Her curiosity becomes practical mentorship: she tests what he can do, warns him when copied magic could provoke another Tower Master, and continues visiting the Lionheart estate after the lessons end. (Chapters 122–130)
Prominence, Samar, and Sienna's Rescue
Melkith frequently examines Eugene's developing Signature and advises on its composition alongside Lovellian Sophis, establishing herself as one of the few Archwizards trusted with the unfinished spell. When the crisis in Samar emerges, she joins the expedition, uses land spirits to accelerate the party through the rainforest, and identifies the unnatural absence of local spirits where the Earth Veins have been twisted. During the battle against Edmund Codreth, she commits her still-developing Infinity Force to the front line, endures dark power that severs her connection to the earth, and answers with combined lightning and flame rather than retreating. (Chapters 221, 276–290)
The Samar conflict also gives Melkith the opening to complete a third Spirit King pact: Ifrit accepts her after she commits herself to stopping Edmund and the attempted birth of a new Demon King. After the battle, Melkith and Lovellian purify and store their mana in Akasha so Eugene can sustain Prominence inside the dimensional rift where Sienna Merdein is trapped. Melkith cannot accompany him into that space, but her contribution helps make the rescue possible; afterward, she honors the party's decision to keep Sienna's recovery secret from Aroth until Sienna chooses to reveal herself. (Chapters 293–305)
Sienna's sudden return places Melkith in an awkward position when Aroth's authorities mistakenly detain her during the commotion at the royal palace. She calls on Eugene to explain her role, and his reluctant testimony that she provided substantial help earns her release and recognition from the wizard she reveres. Melkith immediately tries to turn that recognition into a copy of Witch Craft and later attempts to follow Sienna despite explicit warnings, but Sienna refuses both requests; their exchanges leave Melkith acknowledged as a powerful contributor rather than accepted as Sienna's successor. (Chapters 314–322)
The Nahama Desert
Melkith's pursuit of Tempest eventually leads her to offer Eugene a magically formed favor coupon in exchange for another chance to borrow Wynnyd. Her capacity proves insufficient for a fourth Spirit King contract, although she does establish a link through a lesser wind spirit. Eugene then invokes their bargain and sends her to investigate Nahama as a politically neutral Tower Master. She protests the assignment but accepts it, spending months locating black-wizard dungeons, freeing captives, and destroying practitioners whose human experiments violate the principles she believes magical research should follow. (Chapters 399–403 and 419–420)
The desert becomes both an ordeal and a period of growth. Protected by Yhanos, Melkith hides and travels beneath the sand while evading Nahama's assassins, uses spirits to scout fortified dungeons, and draws out the high-ranking demon Harpeuron by continuing her campaign. She chooses to confront him with Infinity Force rather than flee; the now-stabilized Signature overwhelms him in minutes, and she later permits Balzac Ludbeth to test Gluttony on the defeated demon while observing the spell for herself. After almost a year away, she returns to Aroth having broken the desert's black-wizard network, expanded the mental capacity needed for her spirit contracts, and preserved the captives she had spared. (Chapters 419–444)
Omega Force and the Demon Kings
During the assault on Hauria, Melkith leads the White Tower's spirit summoners in adding their contracted spirits to Infinity Force through Union Force. Controlling that collective power expands her limits far enough to summon Tempest and finally form the fourth pact she has pursued for decades. She names the resulting four-element Spirit Giant Omega Force and immediately uses it to breach the city and scatter undead and high-ranking demonfolk, turning a lifelong ambition into a decisive contribution to the liberation campaign. (Chapters 473–482)
Melkith continues fighting through the campaigns against Incarceration and Destruction. The four Spirit Kings can overrule her control when their own resolve surges, once exhausting Omega Force in a single attack, while the Nur's dark power burns through her mana and disrupts her resonance with the spirits. She is badly injured after intercepting Destruction and privately admits that she is afraid, yet refuses Eugene's permission to leave and joins the advance in the final battle. Afterward, she remains White Tower Master and applies her earth-spirit expertise to the Lionhearts' new city, shaping roads and training spirits to preserve the soil and planned forest. (Chapters 592, 598–599, 607, and 625)
Appearance and personality
Although Melkith is already over sixty when she meets Eugene, magic preserves an appearance described as no older than her mid-twenties. She has curly hair and favors conspicuous, fashion-conscious clothing: her outfits include high heels with ripped denim in the Samar rainforest, as well as oversized sunglasses, fur-trimmed hats, and bright coats. Her appearance stays youthful through the latest supplied chapters. (Chapters 43, 49, 122, 276, and 282)
Melkith is flamboyant, intrusive, and remarkably unconcerned with the dignity expected of a Tower Master. She bargains aggressively, calls herself Eugene's “big sis,” and turns embarrassment into spectacle, yet her frivolity does not erase her professional judgment or compassion. She repeatedly aids younger wizards, takes precautions around dangerous magic, spares captives and lesser offenders in Nahama, and becomes genuinely angry when she suspects Balzac may have harmed those she released. Yhanos's assessment is blunt: his contractor is eccentric, but good at heart. (Chapters 43, 123, 221, 419–420, and 443)
Abilities and powers
Melkith is both an Eighth Circle Archwizard and a specialist in spirit summoning. Her magic grows from an innate affinity—she says earth and lightning spirits loved her from birth—but its mature strength also depends on negotiation, catalysts, and the mental capacity to sustain multiple Spirit King contracts. By the end of the corpus, she is contracted with Levin of Lightning, Yhanos of Earth, Ifrit of Fire, and Tempest of Wind, while retaining command over lower-ranking spirits of those elements. (Chapters 43, 122, 129, 293, 473, and 625)
Spirit summoning and elemental control
Melkith communicates directly with her contracted kings and can summon their elemental power separately for travel, reconnaissance, terrain control, and combat. Yhanos lets her sense land spirits, reshape or move through earth, locate underground structures, and neutralize hostile terrain; Levin supplies exceptional speed and lightning that Fifth Circle defenses cannot stop; Ifrit lends flames capable of erasing spells and incinerating groups of black wizards. Her results still depend on the environment and opposition: corrupted Earth Veins drive spirits away, dark power can sever her connection to Yhanos, and a fortified dungeon led by a near-Archwizard can resist a simple burial attack. (Chapters 128–130, 282, 290, and 419–420)
Her general magical knowledge is not limited to summoning. Melkith can create barriers, evaluate unfamiliar spell structures, advise on a fellow Archwizard's Signature, disguise her face, and detect traps before a Spirit King warns her. She also coordinates spirit summoners at Tower scale, later directing earth spirits to construct roads and maintain fertile ground around the Lionhearts' new city. The corpus identifies her as an Archwizard but does not provide a complete catalogue of her ordinary Circle spells. (Chapters 123–130, 221, 419, and 625)
Infinity Force
Infinity Force is Melkith's Signature, forming a giant elemental body around her from the combined power of her Earth, Lightning, and Fire Spirit Kings. The construct can replace limbs by drawing new matter from the earth, hurl Melkith with lightning-assisted speed, and concentrate flame and lightning into beams or overwhelming physical strikes. Its earliest combat deployment in Samar is incomplete but still allows her to resist Edmund's dark magic and return fire; after months of stabilization in the desert, a single direct strike leaves Harpeuron near death. (Chapters 290, 391, 436–438)
The Signature is powerful without being unconditional. Darkness laid across the ground can cut it off from Yhanos and immobilize the construct, while enemies able to hide at range can force Melkith to divide her attention between defense and counterattack. Its large-scale effects are also conspicuous enough to attract other demons, and maintaining the fused state does not guarantee that Melkith can detect every hidden observer. These limits lead her to fight cautiously in the desert even after the technique is complete. (Chapters 290 and 436–438)
Omega Force
Omega Force develops when the White Tower's summoners merge their own spirits into Infinity Force through the collective supreme spell Union Force. Controlling that influx expands Melkith's mental limits enough to summon and contract Tempest, after which the giant combines wind, earth, fire, and lightning with the White Tower's lesser spirits. Its punches call storms and lightning, its steps cause earthquakes, and even glancing strikes can mortally wound high-ranking demons; the supporting summoners also sustain its output during prolonged mass combat. (Chapters 473 and 482)
The four Spirit Kings retain wills of their own inside the technique. When their desire to attack Incarceration surges, they move Omega Force against Melkith's objections and pour enough power into one beam to consume the entire construct, demonstrating that her contract does not equal perfect moment-to-moment control. Against the Nur, dispersed dark power oxidizes her mana and disrupts the resonance needed to maintain Omega Force, so an extended battle can exhaust the form even when ordinary enemies cannot penetrate it. (Chapters 592 and 607)

Relationships
- Eugene Lionheart: Their relationship begins as hard bargaining over Wynnyd but develops into recurring mentorship and mutual reliance. Melkith teaches him spirit magic, helps create Prominence, supports Sienna's rescue, and answers his calls in major campaigns, while Eugene supplies catalysts and opportunities that help her obtain Ifrit and Tempest. (Chapters 43–52, 122–130, 221, 293–295, and 401–403)
- Lovellian Sophis: Melkith treats the Red Tower Master as a peer and frequent collaborator. They jointly examine Prominence, campaign in Samar, lend Eugene mana, and manage the consequences of Sienna's return, although Lovellian often has to restrain or apologize for Melkith's conduct. (Chapters 43, 221, 282–305, and 319–322)
- Sienna Merdein: Melkith reveres Sienna as the greatest wizard and helps make her rescue possible, but repeatedly tests Sienna's patience by demanding intimacy, instruction, and access to Witch Craft. Sienna recognizes her contribution and talent without accepting her as a successor. (Chapters 294–305, 315–322, and 443–444)
- Tempest: Melkith pursues the Wind Spirit King for decades because of her admiration for Vermouth. Tempest repeatedly refuses her, but her expanded capacity during Union Force finally enables their contract; even afterward, he retains enough independent will to resist her requests or drive Omega Force himself. (Chapters 43, 48–52, 399–403, 473, 498, and 592)
- Vermouth Lionheart: Vermouth's pact with Tempest makes him Melkith's childhood model of the ideal spirit summoner. Meeting him after the final battle intensifies that admiration into overfamiliar attention, while Vermouth responds with visible discomfort. (Chapters 48, 615, and 625)
