Aroth and the Black Lions
Hera welcomes Eugene to the Red Tower, then serves as a temporary librarian after completing a research project. She helps him navigate Akron and watches his first dangerous attempts to construct a hybrid magical system, reporting the results to Lovellian Sophis and intervening when residual mana clouds the room. Eugene's innovation inspires her to cut short her own rest and return to study. She remains one of the few Red Tower residents with whom Eugene feels personally close when he leaves Aroth. Years later, she is still attached to the tower and reacts with terrified excitement when Sienna Merdein appears there in person. (Chapter 320)
