Harpeuron

Harpeuron is a demon Count ranked fifty-seventh in Helmuth. He sponsors black-wizard dungeons in exchange for offerings, then personally pursues Melkith El-Hayah after she destroys one of those investments. (Chapter 420)

Biography

Raguyaran and Giabella City

Harpeuron descends through the contract of a defeated black wizard after Melkith destroys the associated dungeon, furious over the loss of his offerings and dark-power arrangement. His desire for revenge draws him into a broader demonic conspiracy, where he hopes that fear and sacrifices will let him rise toward the status of a Demon King. When he confronts Melkith in Giabella City, he recognizes the hidden spirits around her but underestimates the combined force of her three Spirit Kings. Her Infinity Force destroys nearly his entire body in one attack; Harpeuron refuses to beg or cooperate even after defeat, and Balzac Ludbeth consumes his surviving head, soul, memories, and dark power. Appearance and personality

Harpeuron has a grotesque, heavily muscled body more than twice the height of an adult man, an elephant-like head with two trunks and tusks, four red eyes, and drooping ears that can flutter like insect wings. He is greedy, ambitious, vengeful, and proud, but also perceptive enough to detect concealed spiritual power. (Chapter 436)

Abilities and powers

As a high-ranking demon, Harpeuron possesses dark power, great physical resilience, and the ability to transmit power through contracts with black wizards. His rank rose from around one hundred and ten to fifty-seven after stronger demons died, but rank alone leaves him unable to understand the full mechanics of Spirit Kings; Melkith's combined form reduces his body to ash with a single blow. (Chapter 437)

• Melkith El-Hayah: Harpeuron seeks revenge on Melkith for destroying a contracted dungeon, but she defeats him decisively. (Chapter 437)
