Secret Dragonblood Training Tome

The Secret Dragonblood Training Tome is the Baruch clan's cultivation manual and historical record. Hogg retrieved a thick, coverless copy from the clan's hidden room and entrusted it to Linley for memorization. The surviving book explains Dragonblood Warrior training and its dangers, but it is one of several copies rather than the lost original. (Chapters 33–34)

History

Hogg entrusts the family copy

Hogg brought Linley into a concealed room, removed the tome from storage, and told him to memorize its contents. The handover gave Linley access to knowledge traditionally guarded by the Baruch clan; it did not make him the owner of a unique original manuscript. (Chapter 33)

The family preserved multiple copies because the first tome had long since crumbled to dust. The surviving volume was divided into four sections: the secret cultivation method, other clan matters, the creation and control of Dragonblood Needles, and the clan's history. Its cultivation method was described as unusable by outsiders. (Chapter 34)

Two routes to awakening

The tome records two ways for a Baruch descendant to become a Dragonblood Warrior. A descendant with sufficient Dragonblood density can follow the normal training method; otherwise, the descendant can attempt to drink fresh blood from a living or recently killed dragon. Saint-level dragon blood offers the best prospect, while lower-rank blood has poorer odds. (Chapter 34)

The second route is exceptionally dangerous. Two clan descendants who attempted it suffered catastrophic eruptions of their veins and died. Doehring Cowart suggested that Blueheart Grass might suppress the blood's harmful effects, but this was his medical judgment rather than a property or guarantee supplied by the tome. His explanation of how the founder might have transformed under a dragon's pressure was likewise conjecture, not confirmed text. (Chapter 34)

Linley's plans for himself and Wharton

After learning the contents, Linley considered combining fresh dragon blood with Blueheart Grass for himself and Wharton. He continued physical warrior training so that his body would be prepared if such an opportunity arose. These were plans prompted by the manual; the cited chapters do not record either brother performing the procedure or establish the tome itself as a source of power. (Chapters 34–35)

Abilities and properties

The tome is an instructional and archival object, not a magical implement. It preserves a clan-restricted cultivation method, Dragonblood Needle knowledge, family matters, and history. Reading or possessing it does not itself awaken the bloodline, increase strength, or remove the hazards of consuming dragon blood. (Chapter 34)

Its guidance also has biological limits. The standard method depends on sufficient ancestral blood density, while the alternative depends on fresh dragon blood and remains potentially fatal. Blueheart Grass is proposed as an external safeguard by Doehring, not built into the tome or proven by the cited material. (Chapters 34–35)

Ownership and custody

The Baruch family maintained the surviving copies after the original disintegrated. Hogg acted as custodian of the copy kept in the hidden room and then entrusted that copy to Linley. Wharton was discussed as a possible beneficiary of the knowledge, but he is not shown holding the book in the cited chapters. No later loss, destruction, or transfer of Linley's copy is recorded within the allowed evidence. (Chapters 33–35)
