Life Overgod Sword

The Life Overgod Sword is the green, double-edged weapon granted to Linley for completing the Overgod of Life's mission. It is an Overgod artifact capable of carrying extraordinary power, but only a Sovereign can withstand its energy and truly use it. Even after Linley became a Sovereign, the sword's life alignment limited its compatibility with his earth nature, and its greatest attacks still depended on his own fused power and techniques. History

Reward of the Overgod mission

After gathering the three talismans, Linley first asked the Overgod of Life to resurrect Doehring Cowart. She explained that the Edicts did not permit such a resurrection, so Linley selected a weapon instead, reasoning that sword techniques suited him while his defenses were already strong. The Overgod materialized a roughly 1.5-metre green longsword with a petal-shaped guard, a tendril-patterned handle, plant-and-flower diagrams on the blade, and two extraordinarily sharp edges. The Overgod warned that only a Sovereign could bear the sword's energy and truly bind it. Before attaining Sovereignhood, Linley possessed the artifact but could not make it outperform Mirage. The weapon's receipt therefore preceded its effective combat use. (Chapter 763)

Sovereign combat

After becoming a Sovereign, Linley channeled fused Sovereign power through the sword in a test that collapsed space across an enormous region. He then used World Disintegrator to kill Teresia. Against opponents of comparable level, possession of an Overgod weapon created a decisive material advantage, but the sword did not originate Linley's fused energy or named techniques. The life-aligned artifact did not perfectly match Linley's earth nature, reducing how efficiently he could use it. Even so, it carried World Imploder and World Disintegrator, broke an ordinary Sovereign weapon, and helped Linley prevail in battles against Augusta and other Sovereigns. Those results combined the artifact's unmatched grade with Linley's fused divine and Sovereign powers. (Chapters 775, 782–783, 801–804)

Displaced in the battle with Orloff

The sword's superiority was not absolute. Orloff's defensive Overgod armor stopped its attack, and his Samsara Transcendence overwhelmed Linley despite the weapon. Linley raised the sword to block a lethal blow; it saved him, remained intact, and was knocked away like a meteor into the distance. The cited chapters do not record its recovery, abandonment, or transfer afterward. (Chapter 805)

Abilities and properties

The sword is a resilient Overgod artifact with extreme sharpness and the capacity to conduct Sovereign-level energy. Its aura and strikes can tear open or collapse space, and it can shatter lower-grade Sovereign weapons. Its effectiveness nevertheless depends on a sufficiently powerful wielder: before Sovereignhood Linley could not properly employ it, and elemental alignment affected its later efficiency. The sword does not independently create World Imploder, World Disintegrator, Sword Intent, or Linley's fused power. It amplifies and withstands what he channels through it. A matching defensive Overgod artifact can resist its edge, establishing that it is neither an automatic victory nor an unlimited source of offensive power. (Chapters 774–775, 801–805)

Ownership and custody

The Overgod of Life created and delivered the sword directly to Linley as his mission reward. He retained it through his rise to Sovereignhood and used it personally in every cited battle. Orloff did not capture or claim it: the final cited event only knocks it away during combat. Ownership therefore remains with Linley, while its immediate location and recovery after that displacement are not established by the allowed sources. (Chapters 763, 772, 805)
