Rutherford
Rutherford is one of Yulan's Five Prime Saints and a warrior in the Necropolis of the Gods expedition. He survives the Flame Tyrant's floor but dies when the next stage's plant ruler catches the slower members of the group. (Chapters 341–348, 356)
Biography
The Necropolis, Deityhood, And Yulan Conflicts
Rutherford enters the Necropolis among the strongest mortal Saints, hoping to reach the divine opportunities guarded within. He questions danger rather than charging blindly, admires Linley's performance against the Flame Tyrant, and continues upward after that brutal floor. In the Queen Mother's domain, however, speed becomes decisive. Tendrils overtake Rutherford and Karossa before the group can rescue them, surround both Saints, and kill them so completely that no remains are recovered, ending Rutherford's pursuit of deityhood despite his elite standing in Yulan. (Chapters 341–348, 356)
Appearance and personality
The cited evidence gives Rutherford no stable physical portrait. He is cautious enough to ask about risks and honest in recognizing Linley's superiority, yet accepts the expedition's lethal stakes because remaining a Prime Saint is not his final ambition. (Chapters 341–348)
Abilities and cultivation
Rutherford is a top Prime Saint warrior, placing him among Yulan's strongest mortals. His strength helps him survive the Flame Tyrant stage, but limited flight speed leaves him unable to escape the Queen Mother's pursuing tendrils. (Chapters 341–348)
