Fiend trial alliance

Regina approaches Linley before the trial and proposes cooperation, correctly judging that small groups have a better chance of surviving. Dressed for action and speaking plainly, she joins Linley, Delia, and Bebe through the mission rather than waiting for stronger participants to rescue her without an agreement. (Chapters 467–474)

After the trial, Regina insists on repaying two hundred thousand inkstones that she owes Linley. When he declines because his family will soon leave Royalwing City, she presses for their destination, showing that gratitude and dislike of debt matter to her beyond the temporary tactical alliance.
