Biography

Holy Emperor

Heidens observes Linley's early rise with satisfaction and tries to convert exceptional talent into a permanent asset of the Radiant Church. He approves honors, listens to Guillermo's proposals, and values Linley as a possible Blessed One, but his patronage remains conditional on obedience to the Church's spiritual and political control. (Chapters 143–297)

War with Linley

When Linley builds power in the Anarchic Lands, Heidens decides that he must die and mobilizes Osenno, Lehman, Fallen Leaf, Angels, and eventually an alliance with the Cult of Shadows. The coalition fails; Heidens flees the battlefield and later confronts Linley's attack on the Sacred Isle, where the Church's long campaign ends with his death and the destruction of its headquarters.
