Gatenby
Gatenby is a golden-haired God serving Adkins and an associate of Ojwin and Hanbritt. After taking part in the pressure on Dragonblood Castle, he turns on a grieving ally for the chance to obtain a Highgod spark. (Chapters 418, 420, 424–426, 440, 447)
Biography
Yulan'S Reckoning And Mount Copper Gong
Gatenby enters Yulan as one of Adkins's divine subordinates and joins the actions directed against Dragonblood Castle. After Beirut kills Adkins, Gatenby conspires with Ojwin and Hanbritt to murder Barnas, judging that the bereaved Highgod can be harvested for his divine spark. The calculation proves fatal: although Barnas is cornered, his dying counterattack with the Spear of Cortez strikes Gatenby down, making greed for a higher-rank spark the direct cause of his death. (Chapters 418, 420, 424–426, 440, 447)
Appearance and personality
Gatenby is a golden-haired man. His allegiance to Adkins gives way quickly to opportunism after their leader dies, and his willingness to kill a former companion for a divine spark defines his final decision. (Chapters 418, 420, 440, 447)
Abilities and cultivation
Gatenby is a full God and participates in operations alongside other divine experts. His cultivation is still below Barnas's Highgod level, which is why the latter's spark is valuable and why Barnas remains lethal even while dying. (Chapters 418, 424–426, 447)
