Duke Bonalt
Duke Bonalt is Fenlai's Left Premier and one of the kingdom's highest-ranking nobles. He observes the Debs trial and Kalan's wedding from the summit of court society, but abandons the capital's government when the magical-beast disaster makes that status useless. (Chapters 106, 125, 134, 148–153)
Biography
The Sculpture, Revenge, And Fenlai'S Fall
Bonalt attends the proceedings against the Debs clan, where he comments on Kanter's loyalty, and later appears as the most eminent guest at Kalan's wedding. Once the magical-beast wave shatters Fenlai, however, he leaves the court and flees with his family and guards instead of attempting to preserve the government. The escape fails: a Violet-Tattooed Bear kills Bonalt and the relatives accompanying him, reducing one of Fenlai's most powerful political households to another casualty of the capital's destruction. Appearance and personality
