Deia

Deia is the younger son of Olivier and Diana and the surviving brother of Leya. His reunion with his parents is inseparable from grief, and he demands that Bonin answer for the attack that killed his brother. (Chapters 721–727, 729, 731)

The Overgod Mission

Deia survives the killers Bonin sends against Olivier's family but loses his brother Leya in the attack. When Linley Baruch reunites him with Diana, Deia's guarded manner gives way to grief and anger: he weeps at Leya's grave and asks his father to kill Bonin in revenge. After the confrontation with Molde's household, he thanks “Uncle Linley,” glares at Molde's corpse, and is firmly warned to forget the dangerous secret of the soul pearls. Deia is a cold, distant-looking youth whose reserve masks intense loyalty to his family. His tears at Leya's grave and insistence on punishing Bonin show that bereavement, rather than ambition, governs his actions. (Chapters 721–727)
