Barnas

Biography

Adkins's trusted lieutenant

Barnas is the God whom Adkins trusts above his other subordinates. He receives sensitive news in the imperial palace, calmly paints while Ojwin, Hanbritt, and Gatenby wait on him, and then leads the group toward Dragonblood Castle in an intentionally imposing display meant to force compliance from its residents. (Chapters 417–426)

His confidence is checked by stronger powers in Yulan. Barnas accompanies Adkins west, stands respectfully in Bluefire's presence, and witnesses both the creation of a new continent and Beirut's effortless defeat of Adkins. He survives to confront the collapse of the hierarchy on which his own authority depended. (Chapters 439–447)

Appearance

Barnas is a silver-haired elder. (Chapter 417)
