Cruel Talia's Armour is Zephyr's elder-dragon armour, a self-moving relic associated with Cruel Talia that reacts to threats involving the elder dragons and converges on In-gong for the battle against the red dragon.
History
Zephyr's Elder-Dragon Armour
Zephyr is already wearing and sensing through Cruel Talia's Armour when it first appears during the approach to Shutenberg's castle. It seems to growl in response to something ahead, although the immediate cause is not identified. After Shutenberg's defeat, the armour reacts violently in parallel with Locke's Warrior's Sword and In-gong's elder-dragon pieces, helping its wearer recognize that a new danger is developing outside the limit line. The narration explicitly calls the armour Zephyr's property, and no earlier acquisition, grant, or craft history is supplied. (Chapters 210 and 220)
Convergence at the Sanctuary
At the Sanctuary, Zephyr and Locke use their elder-dragon equipment to sense that In-gong is approaching, though not exactly when he will arrive. When Conquest's light announces him, Cruel Talia's Armour removes itself from Zephyr and flies toward In-gong alongside the Warrior's Sword. In-gong accepts both relics as the true Drakon Kechatulla, and the elder-dragon equipment is described immediately afterward as unified for the confrontation with the red dragon. This establishes In-gong's final-battle custody and use, not a stated gift or permanent transfer from Zephyr. Abilities and properties
