Victor Nekrion

Victor Nekrion is the Demon King's third prince, a nightmare magician, and the elder brother and regular field partner of Anastasia. During the Curtis rebellion, his rational decision to preserve the southern forces leaves Anastasia besieged, and the resulting distance makes him an awkward but still useful commander in In-gong's new kingdom.

Biography

Prince and Commander at Curtis

Victor belongs to Anastasia's faction rather than leading a succession faction of his own. At court he supports her chosen mission, watches the newly prominent In-gong carefully, and participates in Baikal's family tea without provoking him. The siblings deploy together to Curtis, but the sudden betrayal catches both away from the positions where they can help each other. Victor calculates that attempting to break the siege of the central fortress has too little chance of saving Anastasia and would sacrifice his own force as well, so he turns south to rally the loyal lizardmen. The choice is rational and one Anastasia understands, yet In-gong's successful rescue leaves Victor embarrassed and creates regret between the siblings that neither openly converts into blame. Victor continues the campaign instead of returning to court. He secures lizardman forces, retakes the western and northern parts of Curtis with Anastasia, and remains behind for months to stabilize the region. That responsibility also isolates him from the northern coalition and the events that determine the Demon World's succession. When the red dragon's forces assault every frontier, Victor defends the west with the lizardmen, Gullam hunters, and the reorganized Paran clan; the narrative places him in the battle but does not describe an individual feat.
