Queian

Queian is the Guardian and elder dragon who prepares Locke as the Human World's Drakon Kechatulla. Though critically weakened in the ancient war, he continues to direct and empower his chosen warrior, then contributes his will through the Warrior's Sword to the coalition's final stand.

Biography

Preparing the Warrior

Queian survived the ancient clash with Death, but both combatants critically damaged one another's essences. Before withdrawing into a long recovery, he concluded that the next struggle would be decided by the Knights of the Apocalypse and dragon warriors rather than restored elder dragons. He therefore pursued the reproduction of the Drakon Kechatulla, preparing a human champion who could act where his own injured body could not. (Chapters 170–172)

That preparation culminates in Locke, born with a dragon's spirit and raised under Queian as a warrior against destruction. Queian arranges Locke's teachers, supplies the materials for the Warrior's Sword, and imbues the weapon with powerful magic, while Amita performs the actual forging. When the renewed conflict threatens to cross from the Demon World, Queian sends his blessing and command north, dispatching Locke as sword and shield for the Human World. Guardian of the Final Coalition

Locke enters the Demon World as Queian's representative and openly identifies his task as preventing the war from spilling into the Human World. Their bond is both strategic and familial in language: Locke calls Queian his teacher and father, while Queian calls him his child, though the corpus does not establish biological parentage. Through training and communication, Queian turns his earlier plan into an active alliance with In-gong's coalition rather than taking the field himself. (Chapters 149, 191, and 209)

During the red dragon's return, Queian recognizes that no recovered elder dragon can stop it bodily. Appearance and personality

The supplied corpus does not give Queian a reliable physical description, scale color, or size. He is called a saint dragon, Guardian, and elder dragon, but his appearances are mediated through distant awareness, Locke's recollections, and the Warrior's Sword. Descriptions of a huge white dragon in Recorder Torres's record belong to Torres and should not be transferred to Queian. (Chapters 46, 149, 170, and 225–226)

Stories portray Queian as a wise and thoughtful sage. He is neither as benevolent as Ainkel nor as violent as Enkidu, and curiosity sometimes draws him into events. His caution is equally important: he distrusts Conquest where Ainkel sympathizes with her, teaches Locke that the red dragon was destroyed according to the knowledge available to him, and responds to contrary evidence by helping redirect the final defense rather than clinging to the old conclusion. Powers and abilities

As an elder dragon, Queian possesses godlike power, but the corpus does not assign him a named elemental authority comparable to Ainkel's life or Enkidu's destruction. His demonstrated specialty is guardian magic exercised through preparation and distance: he can imbue weapons with multiple powerful spells, bless and direct Locke across great range, communicate and reveal information through the Warrior's Sword, and transmit his power through it during combat. Queian also understands and cultivates the Drakon Kechatulla, raising Locke as a warrior with a dragon's spirit and arranging the training and equipment needed for that role.
