Green Lotus Platform
The Green Lotus Platform, also called the green lotus seat, is the thousand-year natural structure in which the Green Lotus Core Flame formed. Xiao Yan removes it from the underground magma region, uses it to recapture and transport the flame, and repeatedly sits on it for safer, more efficient cultivation. (Chapters 200, 202, 218–219, 226–235, 330–332, 1161)
History
Removal from the magma lotus
Xiao Yan finds the platform inside an eight-leaf green lotus suspended in the desert's underground magma. The central flame has already been taken, but the natural seat, its Core-Fire Lotus Seeds, and the root structure remain. Yao Lao explains that the lotus has been formed and polished by subterranean fire over a thousand years. Xiao Yan cuts away the platform while preserving the useful seat and seeds rather than abandoning the formation once the flame itself proves absent. (Chapter 200)
Soon afterward, Xiao Yan tests the platform as a cultivation seat. It floats beneath him, surrounds him with green light, purifies incoming fire-aspected natural energy, and contributes a small stream of unusually pure green energy that requires little additional refinement. The immediate session helps him advance, but the chapter does not make the platform the sole cause; it accelerates and stabilizes the training process that Xiao Yan performs. (Chapter 202)
Transporting and absorbing the Green Lotus Core Flame
When Xiao Yan later recovers the Green Lotus Core Flame from Medusa's city, ordinary storage would be unsafe: the unrefined Heavenly Flame could incinerate the contents of a storage ring. Because platform and flame share an origin, the seat can receive the flame into its empty center, reduce its escaping temperature, and let Xiao Yan carry it by hand while fleeing. This containment is specific, demonstrated compatibility rather than a claim that the platform can safely hold every Heavenly Flame. (Chapters 218–219, 222–224)
The platform remains beneath Xiao Yan during the preparation, swallowing, and refinement of the Green Lotus Core Flame. Its calming and energy-regulating influence helps him maintain concentration through a process that still requires specialized medicines, Yao Lao's protection, the Flame Mantra, and extraordinary endurance. The seat lowers risk and supports control; it does not make Heavenly Flame refinement intrinsically safe. (Chapters 226–227, 232, 235)
Continued cultivation use
Xiao Yan retains the platform after the flame has been incorporated. He returns to it while refining the Three-Lines Green Spirit Pill's energy and attempting the dangerous transition to Da Dou Shi. Its nerve-calming effect helps him hold the concentration needed to regulate a full vortex, but it cannot remove the danger created by excessive medicinal energy. He stores the platform again after successfully forming his Dou Crystal. (Chapters 330–332)
Much later, Xiao Yan compares Core Mother Jade to the Green Lotus seat when evaluating another stabilizing cultivation material. The comparison confirms that the seat's calming function remains a known benchmark while also establishing a limit: Core Mother Jade is described as better at suppressing wild energy and preventing cultivation deviation. Chapter 1161 references the earlier treasure but does not depict another direct use of it. (Chapter 1161)
Abilities and properties
- The natural seat is formed by long exposure to subterranean fire energy. It can float while supporting a seated cultivator and emits a green field around Xiao Yan during training. (Chapters 200, 202)
- Its field purifies incoming fire-aspected energy and contributes a highly refined green energy, reducing the work needed before that power can be incorporated. Xiao Yan estimates a major increase in training efficiency, but that estimate should not be treated as a fixed result for every user or environment. (Chapter 202)
- Because it shares an origin with the Green Lotus Core Flame, it can hold that unrefined flame at a reduced outward temperature and provide safer physical transport when a storage ring would be hazardous. The corpus does not demonstrate equivalent containment for unrelated flames. (Chapters 218–219)
- Sitting on the platform has a calming, stabilizing effect during cultivation and difficult energy refinement. It assists but does not replace medicines, Qi Methods, protective techniques, or the cultivator's control. (Chapters 226–235, 330–332)
- The original lotus also bears Core-Fire Lotus Seeds, rare condensations of fire energy. Xiao Yan collects them separately; their later use is not the same as continued use of the platform itself. (Chapter 200)
Ownership and custody
| Holder or custodian | Relationship to the item |
|---|---|
| Xiao Yan | Removes the platform from its natural magma formation, collects its seeds, uses it to carry and absorb the Green Lotus Core Flame, and retains it as a cultivation seat. The source documents possession and use rather than a separate legal transfer. (Chapters 200, 202, 218–219, 222–235, 250–251, 267, 269, 330–332, 1161) |
