The Qilin Abyss conspiracy
Zhai Kexie enters the conference as a celebrated former champion and one of the strongest leaders assembled around the Qilin Abyss. He participates in the alliance maneuvering intended to displace the Helian Dynasty, then races with the other powers toward the Qilin Bone Spirit Orchid when the secret realm's greatest prize appears. After Yun Che turns on the assembled leaders, Kexie joins their decision that the young threat must die. The Boulder Profound Sect's three great elders sacrifice their chance of escape to send him toward safety, but he looks back at their destruction, loses his composure, and fails to raise his protective energy before Yun Che removes his head in a single strike. Kexie carries the authority of a veteran sect master, but ambition and fear govern his decisive choices. He helps pursue the conference's prize and supports killing Yun Che, then abandons the battle when the balance of power becomes unmistakable. (Chapters 2010 and 2014)
