Yun Waitian

Yun Waitian is the Yun Family’s great elder during the period when Yun Qinghong’s injuries weaken the patriarch’s authority.

Biography

Ambition, deception, and restored loyalty

For more than twenty years, Yun Waitian’s strength and office give his words the greatest weight in the Elder Council. He allows supporters to propose him as the next patriarch and takes pride in his son Yun Xinyue, not realizing that Xinyue is cooperating with Duke Huai’s faction. Yun Che and Yun Qinghong expose the plot, forcing Waitian to confront how personal ambition and paternal confidence have been used against the family. (Chapters 512–520 and 532)

Waitian ultimately remains within the Yun Family rather than joining Duke Huai. During later attacks on Demon Imperial City, he acts as a senior elder under the restored patriarchal order and responds to threats alongside Yun Qinghong and the Guardian Families. His last scenes establish continued service but no new office beyond the Elder Council. (Chapters 626–628 and 863)

Appearance and personality

Yun Waitian carries the imposing seniority of the family’s strongest elder. He is proud, susceptible to praise concerning his son, and willing to challenge a weakened patriarch, but the exposure of Xinyue’s betrayal prevents that ambition from becoming permanent treason. (Chapters 512–520)

Abilities and cultivation

He is the strongest of the thirty-six core elders at his introduction and a high-level profound practitioner of the Yun Family. His power is significant within the Illusory Demon Realm but cannot decide battles involving Xuanyuan Wentian’s later transcendent strength. (Chapters 512 and 863)
