Long Zhiming

Long Zhiming is the aged Dragon Lord of the Abyss and ruler of the dragon race centered on the Ancestral Dragon Mountain Range.

Biography

An aging ruler’s succession

The Dragon Lord protects the mixed-blood Long Xi with unusual favor, granting her a private territory and forbidding the race from harassing her. He hopes she will accept him as a father and enter the Eternal Pure Land, but she rejects the arrangement. As age and fatigue weigh on him, Zhiming instead focuses on Long Wangchu’s cultivation and on finding a successor capable of restoring power the dragon race has lost. Yun Che approaches the Ancestral Dragon race under his Abyssal identity and offers Wangchu a succession based on the Dragon God marrow and soul he carries. Zhiming recognizes that this inheritance could let Wangchu surpass even him and return the race to Dragon God-level power. By the latest chapter he remains alive and presides over the beginning of that dangerous transfer. (Chapters 2116, 2160, and 2190)

Appearance and personality

Long Zhiming speaks with ancient authority strong enough to freeze a hall, but fatigue and age run beneath it. He is protective toward Long Xi, exacting toward Wangchu, and increasingly preoccupied with what will survive him. (Chapters 2020 and 2094–2097)

Abilities and cultivation

As Dragon Lord he is the Abyssal dragon race’s highest present authority and a supreme draconic cultivator. The narrative treats the ancient Dragon God Realm as a lost height beyond the race’s current state; Zhiming believes Yun Che’s inheritance could let Wangchu surpass his own level.
