Ling Yun is the eldest son of Ling Yuefeng and the leading young swordsman of Heavenly Sword Villa during Yun Che’s rise in Blue Wind.

Blue Wind’s model swordsman

Ling Yun enters the imperial palace as Heavenly Sword Villa’s courteous young master, restraining his impulsive brother Ling Jie and treating Yun Che with respect after witnessing his heavy sword. The reigning champion of the previous Blue Wind Ranking Tournament, he again reaches the final stages through refined swordsmanship and the Sword Spirit Doppelganger. Xia Qingyue’s unprecedented Frozen Cloud Domain defeats him, but he accepts the result without attacking her or disputing the tournament. (Chapters 161–164 and 224–239)

His conduct contrasts with the jealous choices of his parents. Ling Yun remains protective of Ling Jie and participates in the villa’s later affairs, while Yun Che continues to remember his technique as a benchmark for Blue Wind sword cultivation. The record does not establish a later death or a formal realm beyond his tournament-era progress, so his ultimate position after Heavenly Sword Villa’s political decline remains unstated. Appearance and personality

Ling Yun is presented as a handsome, composed young swordsman whose bearing suits the heir of Blue Wind’s foremost villa. He is observant enough to appreciate an opponent’s weapon and disciplined enough to stop Ling Jie from turning a challenge into an imperial incident; even defeat does not strip away that courtesy. Abilities and cultivation

He practices Heavenly Sword Villa’s sword arts and can create a Sword Spirit Doppelganger, controlling a second sword-bearing presence that pressures an opponent from two directions. The technique overwhelms most of his generation, but Xia Qingyue’s complete domain suppresses both bodies and exposes that his reach remains below true Emperor Profound power. (Chapters 234–239)
