Ranger's Cloak
The Ranger’s Cloak is a prized elven artifact that blends its wearer into the surrounding terrain.
History
Found in the dungeon
Eryk gives a cloak found in the cockatrice chamber to a wounded elf, Raelia, so she can cover herself. She identifies it as a Ranger’s Cloak and says the method of making them was lost when Caelora fell; her people prize them highly. The cloak shimmers to blend into the ground, providing camouflage. Raelia later keeps and wears it. (Chapters 160, 168)
Raelia’s cloak in later expeditions
Raelia uses the cloak for concealment during dangerous travel and can remain hidden beneath it while keeping the garment dry. It is damaged when a manticore’s quills strike her, then appears again in later dungeon travel. The text also mentions other cloaks, including cloaks crafted from manticore hide; these are distinct items. (Chapters 326, 327, 343)
