Aether Shield Amulet
The Aether Shield Amulet produces a protective barrier that can absorb attacks, drawing on its wearer’s aether.
History
A dungeon spoils amulet
After defeating a summoner in the dungeon, Eryk finds a heavy gold-and-silver medallion around the man’s neck. Eryk recognizes that the enemy’s aether shield has been depleted and takes the medallion as a possible artifact similar to Castile’s aether shield amulet. The text later identifies Eryk’s defensive artifact as an aether shield amulet. (Chapters 178, 315)
Protection in later delves
Eryk relies on the amulet when entering dangerous rooms and replenishes it before combat. Its barrier activates when an attack lands, but a powerful impact can expend the shield and leave him exposed. (Chapters 325, 333–336, 343)
Abilities and properties

- It can be depleted by attacks; Eryk tops it off before entering a dungeon room. (Chapters 336, 335)
- It is a separate defense from Eryk’s air-shield spell forms. (Chapters 325, 334)
