Protomagnetic Wings

The Protomagnetic Wings are Bai Xiaochun's integrated set of magnetic spirit wings and a Protomagnetic Pearl. The north bank gives him both components in exchange for the Aphrodisiac Pill formula, after which he refines the wings into his body and uses them for abrupt bursts of speed. Their protomagnetic balance also supports his experiments with gravity, repulsion, and control power, although those later effects depend on Bai's own cultivation and stored energy rather than operating as an automatic attack. (Chapters 101, 125, 178, and 182)

History

North-bank reward and integration

After Bai wins the Chosen battles, the peak lord of Irispetal Peak offers him a green Protomagnetic Pearl and a pair of magnetic spirit wings in exchange for his pill formula. She says the pearl was extracted from the heart of a Protomagnetic Giant and can influence magical items in an area, while the wings make its power usable at Qi Condensation and promise exceptional speed. The components come from the north bank and Heavenhorn Pavilion respectively; their makers and earlier individual custodians are not identified. (Chapter 101)

Bai swallows the pearl, which dissolves into mist and settles in his dantian, then refines the green, nearly transparent wings into his palm and back. The later named Protomagnetic Wings contain the pearl in their center and can be summoned behind him as needed. Their first appearance under that combined name occurs when Bai senses an ambush and instantly moves several dozen meters out of danger. (Chapters 101 and 125)

Flight in combat and escape

Bai repeatedly uses the Wings for short, explosive movement rather than ordinary travel alone. They drive him into a shield-assisted collision in the Fallen Sword Abyss, carry him away from pursuing Spirit Stream Sect elders, and at Heaven-Dao Foundation Establishment let him close on opponents with motion described as almost teleportation. He can combine their momentum with the Mountain Shaking Bash and other body-cultivation techniques. (Chapters 144, 183, and 256)

Their demonstrated performance scales with Bai's own condition and techniques. When he later uses them with the Heavenly Demon Body, he becomes a distant blur almost instantly, but the golden crocodile pursuing him can still keep pace. The corpus gives no fixed maximum speed, duration, or energy cost and does not mention the Wings again after this flight. (Chapter 298)

Protomagnetic enlightenment and stored control power

Inside an arcane pocket realm, Bai studies the pearl embedded in the Wings and gains limited insight into protomagnetic force. He can form an illusory pearl whose opposing push and pull remain in balance, but does not master the promised Arcane Gravitational Repulsion. He later realizes that the balanced construct can act as a vessel for the control power he creates through the Violet Qi Heavenspan Incantation. (Chapters 178 and 182)

Bai spends four months charging that construct. The accumulated power distorts the air and affects objects within thirty meters, then involuntarily tears apart the robes of cultivators entering the field. This incident demonstrates what Bai's charged control-power experiment can do through the Wings; it is not evidence that uncharged Protomagnetic Wings passively strip clothing or control bodies. (Chapter 182)

Abilities and properties

  • Burst movement: The Wings can appear behind Bai and propel him several dozen meters in an instant. Later uses provide much greater combat and escape speed as his cultivation and body techniques improve. (Chapters 125, 144, 183, 256, and 298)

  • Integrated Protomagnetic Pearl: A pearl extracted from a Protomagnetic Giant is incorporated into the Wings after dissolving into Bai's body. It provides protomagnetic force and a basis for balancing gravitational attraction with repulsion. (Chapters 101, 178, and 182)

  • Magical-item influence: The Irispetal Peak lord says the pearl by itself can influence magical items within an area. The corpus does not establish a fixed radius or show this claim as a general disabling effect in later battles. (Chapter 101)

  • Control-power vessel: Bai can draw qi from the Wings into an illusory pearl and charge it with control power. After months of charging, the demonstrated field affects objects and clothing within thirty meters; this is a prepared application of Bai's Human Controlling Grand Magic research. (Chapter 182)

  • Cultivation-dependent limits: The Wings amplify movement but do not guarantee escape from faster opponents. Their control application requires Bai's insight, incantation, and prolonged energy investment, and the promised Arcane Gravitational Repulsion is never shown as a fully mastered ability of the item. (Chapters 101, 178, 182, and 298)
