Giant Ghost Soul Blood

Giant Ghost Soul Blood is the Giant Ghost King's concentrated soul-blood essence, of which he possesses only three drops. During the escape from Giant Ghost City, he extracts one drop and gives it to Bai Xiaochun as a short-lived combat boost. It normally promises power equivalent to half a step into the Demigod Realm, but Bai's four-clone merger unusually raises his aura to the demigod level for one attack. The item is documented only during this extraction, absorption, and expenditure. (Chapters 660–661)

History

A single-use escape trump card

As the Cai Clan patriarch closes in, the weakened Giant Ghost King opens his forehead and sends a golden drop of soul blood into Bai's chest. He states that absorbing it will grant power equivalent to half a step into the Demigod Realm and orders Bai to use the Nine Dragons Godslaying Spear for an all-out attack. The extraction visibly ages and further weakens the king, emphasizing that the drop is one of only three irreplaceably important reserves. (Chapter 660)

Absorption drives Bai from Core Formation through Nascent Soul and deva power to the promised half-step level, while also filling his mind with the king's accumulated deva knowledge and part of his demigod enlightenment. Bai then merges his four clones back into himself and, in a result that shocks even the Giant Ghost King, produces a demigod aura. The king says the state can yield only one attack and should not have been possible from one drop, so this peak cannot be treated as the guaranteed result for another recipient. (Chapters 660–661)

Bai uses the borrowed state and the spear to destroy the Cai patriarch's body and nearly consume his nascent divinity. Before the attack finishes, the boost collapses and Bai drops back to Core Formation, coughs up blood, and loses the chance to complete the kill. The one drop has been absorbed and expended; no recoverable item remains. (Chapter 661)

Abilities and properties

  • Temporary cultivation boost: A recipient can receive a dramatic but short-lived increase in cultivation. The Giant Ghost King's stated baseline is half a step into the Demigod Realm, not permanent advancement. (Chapter 660)

  • Transferred insight: The absorbed drop conveys the king's accumulated understanding of devas and part of his enlightenment regarding demigod laws. The narration says this knowledge can aid Bai's later cultivation even after the temporary power ends. (Chapter 660)

  • Exceptional interaction with Bai's clones: Bai's merger with his four clones pushes the borrowed state to a demigod aura for one attack. Both the Giant Ghost King and the narration treat this as a result unique to Bai rather than a standard property of one drop. (Chapter 661)

  • Severe brevity and recoil: The enhanced state ends during the first full-power attack, returning Bai to Core Formation and causing him to cough blood. The corpus does not define an exact duration outside this battle or a safe method of repeated use. (Chapter 661)

  • Cost to the source: Extracting one of his three drops leaves the Giant Ghost King visibly older, emaciated, and drastically weakened. No method for replenishing, refining, or independently manufacturing soul blood is given. (Chapter 660)
