Fantasy Pill

The Fantasy Pill is a hallucinogenic preparation derived from gray smoke that Bai Xiaochun accidentally creates while concocting medicine on Corpse Peak. Commercial pills place users in wish-responsive fantasies that can become so immersive that they forget reality or completely lose their sense of self. Voluntary users seek that experience and may develop dependence, while forced battlefield exposure deprives targets of informed perception and decision-making; actions taken in that state do not establish meaningful consent. History

From Corpse Peak smoke to a commercial pill

An accident during Bai's Corpse Peak medicine work releases smoke that makes cultivators hallucinate their desires, misidentify people and objects, and behave according to imagined circumstances. The smoke spreads far beyond the furnace and throws the peak into chaos. Bai does not name a Fantasy Pill in those chapters, but Chapter 387 identifies the later product's gray smoke as the same substance. (Chapters 227–229 and 387)

In Sky City, the Celestial Sky Society sells black-coated Fantasy Pills whose contents derive from that smoke. Bai recognizes the material and regards the use as unauthorized, but the society itself says it encountered the pill by accident and does not know its ultimate source. The chain by which the Corpse Peak accident became its commercial recipe is therefore unknown. (Chapters 387 and 390)

Bai's refinement and Azure Dragon sales

Bai produces a stronger version for the Azure Dragon Society. A tester finds its fantasy more realistic and easier to influence than the competing product, but after a point loses himself completely while the hallucination automatically fulfills his wishes. The Azure Dragon Society distributes the pills across Sky City, displacing the Celestial Sky Society's version and making the product a major source of revenue. (Chapters 388–390)

The rival society reports harmful side effects, while a rumor claims permanent brain damage. Bai denies permanent harm but acknowledges that his preparation is imperfect and has side effects; because the source does not independently enumerate or test all of those claims, the article cannot treat either universal safety or permanent injury as established. The Starry Sky Dao Polarity Sect later demands the formula, and the pill's fame spreads far beyond Sky City. (Chapters 393–396, 733, and 921)

Dependency, weaponization, and later legacy

Bai carries a stockpile into the Eternal Immortal Domains and sells pills to Cloud Order disciples. Within half a month, almost everyone who tries one becomes described as addicted or in love with the experience. He later feeds Fantasy Pills to heavenly dragonfish on successive days and then stops; withdrawal makes them feel as though they are starving, and even residue of the pill's aroma drives them into a frenzy. The fish experiment proves dependence and withdrawal in that target population, although it does not establish a universal clinical course for every human user. (Chapters 958–959 and 1060–1061)

The pill also becomes a nonconsensual weapon. Bai deploys it against the Dark Concocters, where hallucination and stacked medicinal effects strip away their remaining faculties. Earlier, he had rejected using it while disguised because its effects were famous and difficult to control. These episodes confirm that an affected person may be unable to understand reality or make informed choices, regardless of whether the exposure began through purchase or force. (Chapters 733 and 1121–1122)

Bai continues considering improvements, and a later explanation connects his initial control of the toxic gas to his understanding of gravity and repulsion without supplying a reproducible mechanism. By Chapter 1313, Xiaobao has mastered and improved both the Fantasy Pill and the Aphrodisiac Pill. Bai still carries or can access Fantasy Pills in the epilogue, so neither the preparation nor its formula is lost. (Chapters 908, 1232, and 1313–1315)

Abilities and properties

• Wish-responsive hallucination: The pill produces an immersive fantasy shaped to some degree by the user's desires. Stronger versions become self-directing and can cause complete loss of self or make the user forget reality. (Chapters 387–388 and 419)

• Perceptual and decisional impairment: While affected, subjects respond to imagined conditions rather than their actual surroundings. Forced exposure therefore removes the basis for informed consent, and even voluntary consumption may leave a user unable to make meaningful decisions until the effect ends. (Chapters 227–229, 388, 419, and 1121–1122)

• Dependence potential: Widespread users are described as becoming addicted, while repeatedly dosed dragonfish show severe withdrawal and cue-driven craving. The corpus does not quantify dose, duration, or recovery for humans. (Chapters 959 and 1060–1061)

• Smoke-based formulation: The active material originates as toxic gray hallucination smoke and is later contained in pill form. Bai's gravity-and-repulsion insight initially helps control the gas, but no complete production method is supplied. (Chapters 227–229, 387, and 1232)

• Known uncertainty and control limits: Bai disputes permanent brain damage but admits imperfections and side effects, and he considers a large incident difficult to control. The duration, long-term neurological risk, and reliable antidote remain unstated. (Chapters 393–396 and 733)
