The Spirit Advent King is one of the four Wildlands heavenly kings, ruler of Spirit Advent City, and father of Xu Shan. He survives the fall of the Wildlands, joins the new Arch-Emperor Dynasty, and ultimately reaches the Celestial Realm with Bai Xiaochun's help. (Chapters 686–688, 831–845, and 1209–1236)

Biography

Heavenly King and Imperial Survivor

The Spirit Advent King enters the imperial struggle as a demigod ruler whose daughter competes in the Necromancer Kettle. When the Arch-Emperor's divine will threatens the court, he joins the other heavenly kings and the Grand Heavenmaster in resisting its lethal pressure, even transforming his body while exhausting himself to survive. He later fights the invading riversource patriarchs during the Heavenspan war. After the old order collapses, he reunites with the Heavenspan survivors under Bai Xiaochun, participates in the new dynasty's councils, and pursues a breakthrough rather than remaining fixed in his former rank. Bai eventually helps him reach the Celestial Realm. (Chapters 686–697, 831–845, 1003–1019, and 1209–1236)

Appearance and personality

He is initially described as an enormously fat man, a mountain of flesh even larger than Big Fatty Zhang had once been. Under supernatural pressure his body shrinks and his features change as he exerts himself defensively. At court he is distinguished by a genuine, jovial smile, though the corpus offers little private character exposition. (Chapters 686, 833, and 841)

Abilities and cultivation

The Spirit Advent King is a demigod for most of the story and can withstand pressures that threaten lesser cultivators with immediate collapse. His defensive transformation visibly consumes his fat and changes his features, but its underlying technique is not named. With Bai's later assistance he reaches the Celestial Realm; no post-breakthrough combat method is shown. (Chapters 833, 1019, 1222, and 1236)

Relationships

  • Xu Shan: His daughter. He gives her a powerful defensive jade pendant and remains identified through her royal position.
  • Bai Xiaochun: A later sovereign and benefactor who incorporates him into the Arch-Emperor Dynasty and helps him become a celestial.
  • War Champion King: Fellow heavenly king, wartime ally, and later demigod of the new dynasty.
