Service in the Hall of Devil Slayers

Master Cloud-Dao receives Bai Xiaochun's newly arrived group, explains their first assignments, and distributes missions that are ordinarily meant to be survivable. Bai is instead sent against the late-Foundation-Establishment Zuo Hengfeng, an arrangement connected to Li Yuansheng's efforts to harm him. Cloud-Dao's position as Feng Youde's aide makes him the immediate target when the hallmaster realizes how dangerous and politically costly the assignment was: he is slapped, thrown from the hall, and comes to hate Li Yuansheng for placing him in that danger. He subsequently refuses further participation in Li's scheme. His treatment of Bai becomes more accommodating, allowing him direct access to Feng Youde and escorting him to potential helpers. Appearance and personality
