Li Hongming
Li Hongming is a Skin Flayer colonel who introduces Bai Xiaochun's party to the Great Wall and becomes a sincere military friend after seeing Bai respond to the battlefield. (Chapters 467–527)
Biography
A Colonel at the Great Wall
Li Hongming receives the new arrivals as a knowledgeable but initially skeptical officer. He guides them through the Skin Flayers' garrisons, explains the Wildlands enemy hierarchy and the corrosive danger of savage blood, and watches Bai closely as active warfare unfolds. Bai's composure and pill-induced battlefield disruption overturn Li's disdain; the colonel offers friendship and promises help, even while misunderstanding Bai's reluctance to enlist as humility rather than fear. Li remains protective when Bai meets General Bai Lin, worrying that an ill-judged remark could provoke a lethal commander. Their paths later converge as fellow colonels. Li advances within that rank through battle credit, visits when Bai is despondent, and quietly offers companionship rather than pressing him. When Bai becomes major general, Li serves nearby in the Third Corps and joins the other colonels in extending respect and projecting killing intent against newcomers who challenge their commander. (Chapters 467–473, 503–507, and 527)
Appearance and personality
The corpus supplies no detailed physical description of Li Hongming. He is disciplined, informative, and devoted to the Skin Flayers, showing fervent respect toward Bai Lin and anxiety when protocol is at risk. His willingness to revise his first impression of Bai, offer unconditional aid, and provide quiet support depicts a sincere and observant friend. His later appearance and ultimate fate are not supplied. (Chapters 467–473 and 503–527)
Abilities and cultivation
Li is an experienced colonel who understands Great Wall defenses, enemy classifications, garrison security, troop command, and the practical danger posed by Wildlands forces. He earns enough battle credit to rise within the colonel ranks, but the corpus does not state his cultivation realm, name a technique, identify a weapon, or isolate a personal combat feat. His demonstrated expertise is primarily military knowledge and command judgment. (Chapters 467–473 and 503–507)
