Ji Fang

Ji Fang is a top-ranked Starry Sky Dao Polarity chosen whose seizure of a golden loach demonstrates his confidence shortly before an unknown attacker kills him aboard the Heavenspan Sea battleship. (Chapters 446–457)

Biography

The Golden Loach and a Silent Death

Ji Fang encounters Bai Xiaochun's group aboard the battleship as a former top-three Superstar who has fallen only to fifth place. When a golden loach is caught, he covets it, seizes it in the confusion, and dismisses objections with the claim that possession makes it his. His own followers and fearsome reputation persuade Bai's companions not to risk a fight, reinforcing Ji's confidence that he can handle Bai and Gongsun Wan'er together if necessary. By the following day, however, he is found in his cabin with all blood drained, his body desiccated and decaying, and intense frigid cold filling a room that shows no signs of combat. His great-circle Core Formation power appears to have offered no time to resist. The travelers suspect the ship's unclean presence, the loach, or recent friction with Bai, but no witness or explicit revelation identifies the killer in Ji Fang's evidence. His death becomes the danger against which later attacks by the white shadow are measured. (Chapters 446–448 and 455–457)

Appearance and personality

Ji Fang is a young man whose face twists cruelly when claiming the fish; no more detailed living appearance is supplied. He is scornful, acquisitive, and confident in both his personal strength and followers. His corpse is withered almost to a skeleton, drained of blood, and already rotting despite the recent death. (Chapters 446–447)

Abilities and cultivation

Ji Fang is in the great circle of Core Formation and ranked fifth among the sect's Superstars, having previously occupied the top three. These assessments establish extraordinary battle prowess, but he demonstrates no named technique or weapon before dying. The lack of combat traces in his cabin indicates the killer overcame him almost instantly; it does not reveal a weakness, mechanism, or counter to his cultivation. (Chapters 446–447)

Relationships

• Bai Xiaochun: Ji dismisses Bai while taking the loach. Their friction later makes some travelers wonder whether Bai was involved, but the corpus supplies no evidence that Bai killed him.
• Gongsun Wan'er: Ji regards her as a potential ally of Bai whom he could also handle. She watches him leave with an ominous reaction, but Ji never learns her nature.
• Ji Fang's followers: Their presence strengthens his confidence and discourages an immediate challenge over the loach; they do not protect him inside his cabin.
