Biography
Succession Favorite and Necromancer Kettle
Gongsun Yi establishes his claim to the Hell-Emperor succession by surviving a sevenfold spirit enhancement of his nascent soul, a risk whose failure would mean death. That achievement and his position as the Wildlands' second-ranked young expert make him the standard Zhou Hong tries to overtake. In the Necromancer Kettle, Gongsun organizes chosen into groups to contain Bai Xiaochun and becomes one of the main leaders of the hunt. When Bai finally reaches him, Gongsun refuses to retreat despite severe injuries, fighting with a battle hunger inherited from his father's tradition. He survives the conflict and later continues rising through the Wildlands' wars, where blood and danger turn the privileged heir into a more seasoned cultivator. (Chapters 672–700, 773, and 989)
Appearance and personality
Gongsun is a young man who resembles his handsome father. He carries a defiant bearing and an intense desire to do battle, continuing to attack even while coughing blood and absorbing injuries. The corpus provides no more detailed clothing or feature description. (Chapters 673, 700, and 831)
Abilities and cultivation
His nascent soul survives sevenfold spirit enhancement, increasing his standing while exposing him to lethal failure risk. In battle he withstands Bai's powerful physical strikes and manifests clouds that form an enormous image of his own face.
