Duke Deathcrier

Duke Deathcrier is a deva and earthly duke serving the Giant Ghost King. He acts as envoy, guard, adviser, and battleship pilot during Bai Xiaochun's rise in Giant Ghost City. (Chapters 616–754 and 829)

Biography

The king's dependable deputy

The Giant Ghost King sends Deathcrier to bring Bai's Bai Hao identity to Giant Ghost City and arrange a position for him, making the duke an early instrument of the king's hidden plan. Deathcrier later receives Bai at the palace, supplies practical information about Arch-Emperor City and its dangerous nobles, and remains a senior supporter during the city's political recovery. His service is defined less by personal ambition than by carrying out the king's decisions. (Chapters 616–711)

When Bai travels to Arch-Emperor City, Deathcrier is ordered to pilot the giant ghost battleship and protect him. He completes the months-long voyage despite irritation at Bai's questioning, then leaves only after delivering him safely. He later appears beside the Giant Ghost King after the rebellion, with the rebellious clan patriarchs brought back under royal control. (Chapters 712–754 and 829)

Appearance and personality

The corpus offers no stable detailed physical description. Deathcrier is reserved, stern, dutiful, and sometimes visibly displeased by inconvenient orders, yet he executes them reliably and treats royal authority with reverence. (Chapters 616 and 712–713)

Abilities and cultivation

Deathcrier is a Deva Realm cultivator and earthly duke capable of piloting the giant ghost battleship across a months-long journey. Heavenly dukes at the peak of the Deva Realm outrank him, and no named combat art is documented. (Chapters 712–754)
