Bai Qi
Bai Qi is the favored direct-line heir of the Wildlands Bai Clan and the older half-brother of Bai Hao. His privileges, necromantic talent, and family's hostility toward Bai Hao make him the central beneficiary of the clan's unequal succession plans. (Chapters 585–607)
Biography
Favored Heir and Ancestral-Land Defeat
Raised as the clan's once-in-centuries “qilin son,” Bai Qi expects his mother Madam Cai and the clan chief to clear his path to the Hell-Emperor legacy. He erases Bai Hao's achievements, supports attempts on his life, and publicly treats him as an inferior whose accomplishments can be appropriated. When Bai Xiaochun, impersonating Bai Hao, eclipses his spirit-enhancement explanation and wins the grand elder's praise, humiliation hardens Bai Qi's rivalry into an intent to kill. He enters the ancestral land expecting the hidden deva soul to be reserved for him, but Bai Xiaochun overwhelms and kills him, uses his blood to open the final restriction, and takes the soul. Bai Qi's death helps expose the clan's favoritism and precipitates Bai Xiaochun's open break with it. (Chapters 585–608)
Appearance and personality
Bai Qi is a prominent young man whose position makes him the center of attention at clan ceremonies. He is proud, articulate, and socially polished when demonstrating expertise, but contemptuous toward Bai Hao and unable to accept losing status. His final protests reveal that he sees lifelong strength and family preference as proof that submission is Bai Hao's proper fate. (Chapters 585, 594–599, and 604–606)
Abilities and cultivation
Bai Qi reaches the great circle of Core Formation and is an exceptional necromancer approaching mastery of eleven-colored flame. He understands high-level spirit-enhancement theory and can perform at least sixfold enhancements, but Bai Xiaochun surpasses both his explanation and practical standing. His cultivation cannot resist Bai's overwhelming ancestral-land attack. (Chapters 585–596 and 604–606)
