Wol Ryeong

Wol Ryeong is a half-Celestial-Dog Radiance prodigy in A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation. Introduced as the adult Wol Ah receiving the courtesy name Wol Ryeong, she advances from Four-Axis to True Immortality while pursuing her master’s recognition, protecting Seo Gyeong, and resisting a fate designed to make her the next Sword Spear. The discovery that her master, affection, and revenge were manipulated drives her into a final duel with Seo Eun-hyun, after which she chooses repentance and becomes the first believer of Star Genesis. She is distinct from her ancestor Wol Woon, the Moonlight Immortal, and from Jin Wol-ryeong; Sword Mountain Devil Lord is Seo Eun-hyun’s title, never hers.

Biography

Baek Geom’s prodigy and Seo Gyeong’s senior sister

Wol Ah reaches adulthood under Baek Geom and receives the courtesy name Wol Ryeong. She begins with an unusually prepared early Four-Axis foundation and a fate cultivated toward becoming the next Sword Spear. Baek Geom’s emotional distance makes rare praise painfully valuable, so Wol Ryeong measures progress partly by whether her master will finally acknowledge it. At the same time, her warmth toward the younger Seo Gyeong gives her ambition a protective and increasingly personal purpose. (Chapter 740)

During light-speed travel and the coral-monster defense, Wol Ryeong protects Seo Gyeong, accepts inherited moonlight powers from Wol Woon, and reinterprets the Radiance Spirit Sword Formula into an innate method of her own. Her incomplete ultimate strike unifies body, mind, will, and flying sword strongly enough to cut a dangerous aftershock, although the exertion empties her and succeeds only because stronger allies restrain the threat. The victory earns Sacred Radiance and the approval she has long sought. (Chapters 741–743)

The reward deepens both independent skill and hidden manipulation. Sacred Radiance becomes a cultivation resource that she can nurture into weapons and barriers, while missions in the Vast Cold Realm place her beside disciples who alternate between cooperation and rivalry. Seo Gyeong’s trust softens Wol Ryeong’s pride, and she begins placing personal connection above the detachment expected of a Radiance candidate. Yet the attention guiding her growth is also arranging those emotions as material for a later Seat. (Chapters 742–748)

Vast Cold growth and Star Shattering

Realm adaptation forces Wol Ryeong to experience cultivation from lower expressed levels while sect missions expose her to evil-god cults, faith, and arguments about free will. She refuses divine shortcuts, studies opponents whom overwhelming rank would make easy to dismiss, and offers mercy when enemies stop resisting. These choices complicate her early confidence that strength alone settles value: talent can end a battle, but it cannot determine whether another person’s effort or surrender deserves recognition. (Chapters 743–751)

Her formal growth remains exceptional. Wol Ryeong reaches Integration, Grand Perfection, and then quasi-Star Shattering after ten months in the adapted environment. She resolves the Thunder Resonance Valley crisis and rescues Seo Gyeong during the encounter with the Mad Lord’s legacy, carrying responsibility for people who cannot match her speed. Bi Hwa and Mu Geom sharpen her competitiveness through jealousy, sacrifice, and cooperation, while Seo’s insistence on choice remains the emotional standard against which she judges higher powers. (Chapters 748–756)

Wol Ryeong completes Star Shattering before the age of one hundred, taking the true form of a silver-white star compressed beneath her human Transformation. Seo Gyeong and Mu Geom protect the advancement, making the achievement relational rather than solitary. Baek Geom finally offers the recognition Wol Ryeong desired, only to appear destroyed immediately afterward. The loss transforms pride into obligation: new cosmic mobility and attraction force now serve a disciple trying to avenge a master and protect the remaining people attached to her. Borrowed power and the collapse of her past

The campaign inside a Mountain-Divine-Spirit devil body drives Wol Ryeong beyond the Star Shattering achievement. She rejects Bi Hwa’s false salvation and steps forward when Entering Nirvana cultivators flee. Sword Spear reconnects her to a realm where Sacred Master cultivation occurred and lends her Sacred Vessel-class weight. The power is external and painful, but Wol Ryeong uses it to form a protective front for weaker allies rather than treating borrowed rank as proof that she alone deserves to survive. (Chapters 758–765)

Linked to Breaking Army, she turns herself into a sword, carries companions within her developing world, and advances through the enemy body. Jin Wol-ryeong—a distinct namesake—burns herself to clear the route, and Wol Ryeong incorporates that spiral and sacrifice into her own culminating thrust. She reaches Grand Perfection Sacred Vessel and then Entering Nirvana, with iron gathering into a silver mask as her fate pulls body and heart toward the next Sword Spear identity. (Chapters 765–769)

The battle’s revelations destroy the history through which she understood those gains. Sword Spear acted through Baek Geom and Eun Geom as both teacher and manipulator; Seo Gyeong’s role was arranged around an emptied connection to Seo Eun-hyun; and Great Mountain helped cultivate her affection, revenge, and candidate fate toward a larger plan. Wol Ryeong refuses to accept even the revelation as an unquestionable final authority. She completes her Innate Immortal Art and becomes a True Immortal so she can verify the truth herself. (Chapters 769–771)

Repentant enlightenment and the first believer

True Immortality does not protect Wol Ryeong from the collapse of agency she experiences after learning how thoroughly her life was shaped. She tears at her own Immortal Body and is drawn into Corpse Mountain Blood Sea for forced repentant enlightenment. The ordeal makes her a final trial left in Great Mountain’s succession: she must determine whether Seo, whose emptied role was part of the manipulation, deserves condemnation and whether her own choices retain meaning after their causes have been exposed. (Chapters 771, 779)

Wol Ryeong fights Seo with True-Immortal weight, Filling the Heavens Sword Rain, attraction force, and Void Perception. She burns her authority to reinforce her body until both combatants approach mortal expression, while Seo reads the breath and grain of her techniques and answers without denying the pain attached to his role. Through the Lapis Lazuli Flower Heavenly King and Seo, she reaches an alternative to forcing either person into hell: responsibility and relationship can continue without pretending manipulation never occurred. (Chapters 779–780)

The duel becomes Seo’s last inherited trial and helps him reach the apex of Immortal Cultivation, but Wol Ryeong is not sacrificed to complete his advancement. She survives, spends three thousand internal years recovering within him, and returns to active life. By Chapter 782 she leads a reconstituted Wuji Religious Order in prayer and becomes the first believer of Star Genesis, choosing a living relationship after coercion rather than remaining Great Mountain’s punishment or Radiance’s candidate. Appearance and personality

Wol Ryeong is a half-blood descendant of the Celestial Dog Race. After Star Shattering, her true body is a silver-white star compressed to palm size beneath a human Transformation form. During the thrust shaped by Sword Spear fate, her hair turns silver and iron particles form a silver mask as body and heart feel increasingly metallic. Those signs mark pressure toward an assigned identity; they do not transform her into Ji Hwa or establish that she actually inherits the Sword Spear office. (Chapters 757–758, 769)

She is warm and protective toward juniors, proud of her talent, fiercely competitive for Baek Geom’s recognition, intuitive, flirtatious, and possessive around Seo Gyeong. She can also spare surrendered enemies and carry weaker allies when greater cultivators flee. Betrayal makes her furious and self-destructive, but it does not eliminate her capacity to question, seek truth, and later accept repentance. Her mature choice preserves injury and accountability without letting either become a command to destroy herself or Seo. (Chapters 741–757, 764–771, 779–782)

Abilities and cultivation

Wol Ryeong develops through conventional human cultivation, a self-interpreted Radiance sword method, moonlight inheritance, Sacred Radiance, a temporary loan from the Sword Spear Realm, an Innate Immortal Art, and True Immortal authority. Borrowed and inherited elements support her growth without replacing it. The Sacred Master weight used during the devil-body campaign is temporary; the True Immortality she reaches in Chapter 771 is her own completed advancement. (Chapters 740–771)

Radiance sword and halberd art

Wol Ryeong reinterprets the Radiance Spirit Sword Formula into an innate law formula rather than receiving a separate perfect method. She forms swords and a halberd from radiance, unifies body, mind, will, and flying sword for concentrated strikes, and incorporates martial principles witnessed in other people’s sacrifices. The path supports flying-sword execution, close combat, barriers, dimensional slashing, body-as-sword charges, and eventually greatsword formations and Filling the Heavens Sword Rain at True Immortality. (Chapters 742, 751, 755–757, 765–771, 779)

Her strongest applications have costs and readable structure. The early “Sword, Dao” strike exhausts her and requires higher-ranked allies to restrain its target; later borrowed-rank attacks strain her body; and Seo can copy or counter her sword dance by reading its breath, grain, and martial construction. Wol Ryeong retains the mature art after recovery, although the Chapter 779 duel temporarily burns the authority supporting its greatest scale down toward mortal force. Moonlight powers and Sacred Radiance

Ancestor Wol Woon’s projection grants Wol Ryeong dozens of moonlight divine powers connected to their Celestial Dog lineage. The individually named mechanics of every power are not established, but moonlight supports protection and inherited divine functions, including survival during dangerous travel. Baek Jin and Baek Eun later reward her with a shard of Sacred Radiance, condensed mutable light that can become weapons or barriers and, when cultivated toward True Immortality, naturally develops toward an Immortal Crown. (Chapters 741–742)

Neither inheritance erases rank disparity. Sacred Radiance must be nurtured from Four-Axis onward, while moonlight favor does not make Wol Ryeong identical to Wol Woon or transfer the ancestor’s title. She folds both resources into her personal sword and halberd system instead of treating them as separate automatic victories. No later loss of these foundations is stated; after her three-thousand-year recovery, they remain integrated into the True Immortal cultivation through which she resumes leadership. Sword Spear Realm and borrowed Sacred Master power

Sword Spear reconnects Wol Ryeong to a realm where Sacred Master cultivation was performed and lends power during the devil-body campaign. The connection temporarily gives Wol Ryeong Sacred Vessel-class weight, lets her link with Breaking Army, and supports turning her body into a sword behind which lower-ranked combatants can advance. She cleaves a glass sword mountain inside an Entering-Nirvana enemy and shelters Star Shattering allies within her internal world from effects that would otherwise annihilate them. (Chapters 765–769)

The loan is physically taxing and depends on Sword Spear’s connection, Breaking Army’s aligned weight, and the sacrifices that clear Wol Ryeong’s route. It does not provide independent mastery of every Sacred Master mechanic. Its lasting value is developmental: borrowed access helps her understand the path to her own Sacred Vessel and Entering Nirvana states. Once she completes True Immortality, the Sword Spear Realm is no longer presented as the permanent source of her rank or personal techniques. (Chapters 765–771)

Innate Immortal Art, attraction, and Void Perception

Wol Ryeong’s Innate Immortal Art grows from her Radiance reinterpretation and is completed after Entering Nirvana. At higher stages her existence becomes a world, attraction force bends spacetime, Various Omens lets consciousness reconstruct local conditions, and Void Perception senses and strikes through governing principles beyond ordinary sight. These abilities permit realm-scale movement, suppression of sect populations, reconstruction while restrained, formation of an Immortal Body, and a True-Immortal sword battle supported by the weight of an inner world. Specialized chains can seal attraction force, realm adaptation can lower expressed strength, and even apparently inexhaustible True-Immortal authority can be depleted when burned into physical reinforcement. Seo’s Martial Pinnacle can strike governing principles through a mortal body and redirect Wol Ryeong’s force into the surrounding environment. She recovers body, mind, and energy through three thousand internal years after the duel, so her latest state is a functioning True Immortal rather than the exhausted mortal expression reached during repentant combat.
