Twilight Crown
The Twilight Crown is the crown associated with Larat's rule over the fae Twilight. Its destruction becomes the founding act of a new realm and a story that continues to shape its participants. (Chapters 285–289)
History
Abdication and the broken crown
Larat steps away from the throne and abdicates the crown rather than defend his rule. The Saint of Swords then cuts through the physical crown, releasing its power. Kairos guides the resulting sorcery, while Catherine refuses to claim the prize for herself. (Chapters 285–288)
A realm left as inheritance
The crown crumbles as the Twilight realm takes shape. Tariq's sacrifice and the star set above the realm make it a lasting inheritance rather than a wearable crown. Later characters invoke the episode as a defining story, and Tariq remains marked by having once borne the crown. (Chapters 289, 299–300, 305, 309)
Abilities and properties
The crown concentrates fae sorcery and can serve as the focal point for a transformative story. When broken in the contest over the Twilight, its released power helps shape the new realm. Whether the crown could be used repeatedly in combat is unknown. (Chapters 287–289)
