Ealamal

Ealamal is an immense weapon of celestial origin held by the Grand Alliance. Its power is associated with overwhelming Light and with the restoration of damaged Creation. (Chapters 367, 435)

History

Named and brought under Alliance control

Lord Yannu explains that Ealamal is the name given to the angel-corpse in Muran. Under the treaty governing it, the Grand Alliance gains access to the weapon while Procer remains its holding power and can provide guards. (Chapters 367, 369)

A trigger and its use at Salia

The ivory baton recovered for the operation is identified as the device that triggers Ealamal. At Salia, the weapon is used against the Dead King's forces and works, unleashing Light on a scale that changes the battle. Its use also has consequences for Catherine, whose Below-aligned nature makes exposure dangerous. (Chapters 430, 435, 438, 450)

Containment after the battle

Afterward, the Alliance keeps Ealamal under guard. By the last chapter it remains a strategic object rather than a weapon shown to have been destroyed or expended. (Chapters 459, 478)

Abilities and properties

Ealamal releases immense celestial Light capable of scouring the Dead King's works. It also has a restorative effect described as tabula rasa, repairing damage to Creation rather than merely attacking an enemy. Its effect is not simply a directed judgment from the Choir of Judgement; the weapon's restorative power is described as independent of external guidance from the Choir of Judgement. Exposure can be lethal to those aligned with Below. (Chapters 435, 438, 475)
