Youxi Ya Ke

Biography

Documented arc

Youxi Ya Ke first enters the Bu Zhou City conflict as one of the Mo Shen Temple's great mo gods seeking to inspect the Angel Device Raiment. After an old man diverts the valuable Scab Fragrance and helps Zuo Mo, Youxi confronts him for an explanation. Their dispute becomes a day-and-night duel whose shen-power turbulence devastates the surrounding land and publicly demonstrates the new power's superiority over ordinary high-level mo skills. (Chapters 717, 724–725)

He later interrupts Ming Yue Ye's attempt to recruit Xiao Mo Ge, objects to yao interference in mo territory, and counters with a deliberately irreverent offer of his own position in the Mo Shen Temple. When the Temple's operation at Grave Ghost Mound fails, the rhinoceros mo god extracts Youxi Ya Ke through a blood-mist escape, leaving him alive despite the defeat. (Chapters 728, 733)

Years later, Youxi Ya Ke is identified as both one of the Temple's three top battle generals and the commander of one of its two top battalions. Facing the Nether King's invasion, he correctly recognizes that the Temple's war-worn elite forces cannot match an attack mounted simultaneously across the front, even though his own Youxi Battalion remains the strongest Temple battalion after the chief mo god's force. (Chapters 805, 898, 908)

When the chief mo god proposes conscripting the entire population into a ruinous last stand, Youxi objects that the conflict is internal to the mo and rejects sacrificing their people. The chief strips him of Youxi Battalion, but Youxi openly calls him mad and walks out. A subsequent coup kills the chief; under the new regime, Youxi Battalion survives as one of the four leading mo battalions with Youxi Ya Ke again named as its commander. (Chapter 910)

Appearance and personality

Youxi Ya Ke is a handsome, upright youth with an enchanting smile and a habitually lazy posture. His languid speech, complaints about hard labor, and irreverent humor conceal sharp perception and formidable focus when he releases shen power. He is proud and provocative, yet his refusal to support mass conscription shows a moral limit stronger than loyalty to a failing superior. (Chapters 724, 728, 910)

Abilities and cultivation

As a great mo god, he wields shen power on a scale that makes marshal experts wary. His pressure pulls power from dozens of li into a sky-reaching twister, and he can fight the mysterious old man evenly for a day and night without visible exhaustion. Contemporary marshals estimate that two of them working together could contest him, which underscores his power without making him invincible. (Chapters 724–725)

He is also a top battle general. The five-thousand-strong Youxi Battalion is one of the Mo Shen Temple's two top battalions, and his experienced reading of the Nether King's deployment lets him recognize both the all-front strategy and the fatal shortage of trained elite troops. His limitation in that campaign is strategic material: insight cannot compensate for an exhausted faction facing vastly greater prepared forces. (Chapters 805, 908)

Relationships

The mysterious old man is both a rival and an opponent capable of matching him. Youxi attempts to recruit Zuo Mo as Xiao Mo Ge, later opposes the Nether King's invasion, and ultimately serves in the unified regime that follows the Temple's coup. The rhinoceros mo god rescues him at Grave Ghost Mound, while his relationship with the chief mo god ends in open defiance over the proposed sacrifice of the populace. (Chapters 724, 728, 733, 910)

Items

Scab Fragrance is the only named treasure directly associated with Youxi Ya Ke: he treats its loss as requiring an explanation after the old man gives it away for A Gui's benefit. No personal weapon or armor is named in his fights, and his combat is presented through shen power rather than a shown carried artifact. (Chapters 718, 724)
