Youqin Lie was the last member of the Youqin family and imprisoned in maximum-security A Bei Ge Jail after killing a prestigious-family heir who had raped his friend's younger sister. Pu Yao answered his inherited summons, gave him covert yao arts, and ordered an escape; Youqin mastered enough in one day to break his jinzhi, create a convincing double, and leave within five days. Because he regarded Pu's aid as a life-saving debt, Youqin accepted the old Youqin mission and eventually submitted to training as a commander of darkness. Pu forced him back into prison to identify and control criminals who could not simply be recruited, and Youqin built those foundations into Black Fire, an underground organization known for strict discipline, counterintelligence, successful withdrawals, and missions that did not fail. Youqin used Black Fire to receive Liang Wei's future battalion, dismantle the stronger Snapped Red Silk organization, and test recruits for civil administration. When conflict divided the yao, he surrendered his territory to Ming Yue Ye, gained a regional supervisory post, and turned his underground experience into a ruthless purge of the old Council's influence while concealing his deeper allegiance. During Zuo Mo's absence, Youqin quietly supplied Liang Wei with intelligence while serving as Ming Yue Ye's trusted Shadow Guard leader. He erased witnesses to their old connection through dangerous official assignments, endured severe wounds himself, and used intelligence fragments to infer that the Nether King was probably Zuo Mo without revealing that conclusion to his public superior. After ten years of preparation, Youqin controlled security for the decisive yao leadership meeting and admitted Zuo Mo in disguise. He then exposed clan vulnerabilities, hostages, old crimes, and hidden enemies for nearly every power-holder present; the resulting coercion preserved selected leaders, eliminated rebellious families, and rebuilt the Council of Elders under a yaomo settlement without open mass resistance. Appearance and personality

Youqin Lie is not tall, with long narrow eyes, fiery red hair, an irregular blue crystal on his forehead, and an initially rebellious smile. Years in the underworld make him cool, unreadable, and shadowlike. He retains a strict concept of debt and loyalty, but applies it through patient deception, ruthless sacrifice, institutional control, and precise attacks on personal weaknesses.

Abilities and cultivation

Youqin Lie inherits yao arts for stealth, concealment, illusion, assassination, infiltration, jinzhi-breaking, and torture. He can enter the Ten Finger Prison despite restraints, escape a maximum-security jail, and move like a shadow quickly enough to reverse Nan Yue's grip and seize her neck. His defining ability is organizational: layered agents, intelligence archives, planted pieces, and coercive plans developed over years.
