Shi Feng Rong

Shi Feng Rong is a Wu Kong Sword Sect elder and Zuo Mo's cultivation master. Renowned around Dong Fu for dan-making and ling-herb knowledge, she hides fierce concern for her disciples beneath a cold manner, demanding standards, and a notoriously quick temper.

Biography

Taking Zuo Mo as a disciple

Shi Feng Rong first meets Zuo Mo after returning to Cold Mist Valley and finding its ling herbs exceptionally well maintained. She rewards him with a zhuji dan, takes charge of the valley, and soon identifies what other sect members missed: an expert forcibly changed Zuo Mo's face and erased his memories. Because the unknown perpetrator is far beyond his present strength, she advises him not to investigate yet. Pei Yuan Ran subsequently places Zuo Mo in her branch, where her reputation as the sect's best dan-maker makes her the natural master for his production talents. (Chapters 25–34)

Her apprenticeship is demanding rather than gentle. Shi Feng Rong gives Zuo Mo ten portions of ingredients and orders him to produce five Fasting Pills within a month, leaving the western dan room and her collection open while expecting him to study independently. When his altered recipe produces the Golden Crow Pill, she recognizes its sun essence and extreme-yang mechanism, warns that such stimulation may have aftereffects, and encourages him to name and sell it. Her inability to reproduce the pill without the Art of Crimson Flame establishes an important boundary: she can diagnose its principles with expert precision, but expertise does not substitute for a missing method. Protecting her disciples through the sect's collapse

Shi Feng Rong's severity becomes openly protective as Zuo Mo faces escalating danger. She rebukes Xin Yan after Zuo Mo is swept away, argues that the sect must give her disciple a suitable sword scripture, secures broader access to sect scrolls when scarce resources favor Wei Sheng, and treats the injured Sword Test Conference disciples herself. She participates in the elders' sword-essence formation because she thinks Zuo Mo's formations and body cultivation began as practical safeguards rather than his proper path, but she also opposes his posting to Desolate Wood Reef and pressures Pei Yuan Ran into granting him the Wu Kong Flag. Her interventions do not always give Zuo Mo what he wants, yet they consistently make his survival and fair treatment her responsibility. (Chapters 61–89, 120, 157–186)

When the sect evacuates Sky Moon Jie, Shi Feng Rong wants to abandon the migration plan and retrieve Zuo Mo, but Pei Yuan Ran persuades her that all four jindan elders are needed to establish the sect in Bright Wave Jie. A later account reveals a grimmer compromise. After Wei Sheng disappears and Kun Lun surrounds Wu Kong Sword Sect, Shi Feng Rong agrees to serve at the front only if the ordinary disciples remain in the rear. Kun Lun later uses those disciples as expendable troops anyway. The corpus does not establish Shi Feng Rong's fate after her deployment, so neither her survival nor her death can be confirmed. Appearance and personality

Shi Feng Rong appears to be a green-clad woman of about forty, although she is more than two hundred years old. Her gaze is described as sharp as a sword, and junior disciples regard her as cold, difficult to approach, and exceptionally ill-tempered. Her controlled appearance contrasts with the intensity of her reactions when a disciple is endangered. (Chapters 21, 25)

She is exacting, perceptive, and unwilling to soften technical judgments. At the same time, her anger repeatedly expresses concern rather than vanity: she scolds Zuo Mo after dangerous choices, fights for his access to resources, and is prepared to confront anyone who harasses him. Her loyalty extends to the wider sect, ultimately leading her to accept a hazardous deployment to protect its disciples. (Chapters 43, 61–63, 89, 120, 196, 570)

Abilities and cultivation

Shi Feng Rong is a jindan cultivator best known for dan-making and tending ling herbs. She can evaluate unfamiliar pills from their effects and composition, supervise difficult medical recovery, and detect the traces left by a high-level alteration of Zuo Mo's face and memory. She also possesses fourth-grade Violet Flora Fire, but explicitly lacks the Art of Crimson Flame needed to make Golden Crow Pills by Zuo Mo's method. (Chapters 26, 43, 54, 157)

Although production is her specialty, she has sufficiently developed sword essence to join the other jindan elders in constructing the formation used to pressure Zuo Mo toward sword cultivation. Her combat ability should not be overstated: Pei Yuan Ran later resists Kun Lun's demand that she go to the front precisely because she is not strong in direct fighting. Her proposed Thousand Flower Hundred Poison Miasma is evidence of poison knowledge and a dangerous temper, not a documented battlefield victory. (Chapters 120, 163–167, 570)

Relationships

Zuo Mo

Zuo Mo is Shi Feng Rong's disciple and the clearest target of her protective instincts. She teaches him dan-making, diagnoses the violence done to his body and memory, advocates for his resources, and repeatedly worries about assignments that place him in danger. Their relationship combines harsh instruction with a commitment she states plainly: whatever his unknown past, he is now her disciple and she will guide him as well as she can. (Chapters 25–63, 89, 120, 167–196)

Pei Yuan Ran and the Wu Kong elders

Shi Feng Rong is Pei Yuan Ran's junior sect sister and serves beside Pei, Xin Yan, and Yan Le as one of Wu Kong Sword Sect's four jindan elders. She frequently challenges Pei over Zuo Mo's treatment, but their arguments occur within shared responsibility for the sect. Pei yields on scroll access and the Wu Kong Flag, while she accepts his strategic judgment during evacuation even though it separates her from her disciple. (Chapters 15, 61, 89, 163–196)

Xiao Guo

Xiao Guo becomes Shi Feng Rong's second disciple after reaching zhuji. Shi Feng Rong judges her talent modest but values her exceptional diligence, sending her to Sky Moon City for experience when she approaches ningmai. The arrangement shows that Shi Feng Rong does not reserve advancement only for prodigies; sustained work can also earn her recognition and responsibility. (Chapters 111, 167)

Shi Feng Rong has no confirmed personal weapon or generated notable-item page. Violet Flora Fire is a cultivation flame rather than a carried artifact. She gives Zuo Mo a zhuji dan as a reward, and her insistence helps secure the sect-made Wu Kong Flag for him; both transactions establish Zuo Mo's custody rather than hers. (Chapters 25, 54, 186)
