Ruan You Xian

Ruan You Xian is a Tian Huan operative who enters the ancient ruins under the cover of Elder Xu's roaming-xiu friend. He leads a small observation-and-retrieval mission and possesses the most complete shen-glyph comprehension among his immediate companions.

Ruan You Xian arrives with Fairy Lin Ying and Long Guang, publicly claiming decades of friendship with Elder Xu and accepting a sect leader's reward for helping explore the ruins. His real affiliation is Tian Huan. When his group meets Mo Cloud Sea soldiers, he orders Long Yan to test them, expecting easy superiority, but their disciplined use of formations and shen equipment forces him to reconsider Tian Huan's assumed advantage. Once Ceng Lian'er identifies the group, Ruan denies the connection while anxiety confirms the cover is failing. (Chapters 771 and 794)

Ruan fights Ceng Lian'er, whose moon shen power suppresses Tian Huan's usual advantage in variation. He fully activates the Mountain shen glyph, shifts between vast stability and mist-like unpredictability, and presses a heavy counterattack, but the observing Tian Huan sect leader later sees that he is losing. The mission was also intended to give Tian Huan's Chief Elder insight into other shen paths, and Ruan had permission not to die for it. His final escape or withdrawal is not shown, leaving him alive but unresolved at his last appearance. (Chapters 795–798)

Appearance and personality

No stable physical description is supplied. Ruan carries and waves a fan, speaks lightly and charmingly, and makes a favorable first impression. Under pressure he is observant, composed, adaptable, and capable of hiding affiliation, though mockery from Mo Cloud Sea's trio provokes unusual anger. (Chapters 771 and 794–798)

Ruan has Tian Huan's Mountain shen glyph at his chest and the strongest glyph comprehension among his three-person group. It gives him a vast, immovable mountain presence, can shift into the deceptive quality of a mist-covered mountain, and produces crushing hand techniques that seem to pull space and terrain into the attack. He is less ferocious than Long Yan, and Ceng Lian'er's complete moon inheritance defeats his usual edge in transformations. Her Moon Essence Chop bisects techniques, irregular crescents evade his counters, and she suppresses him despite his solid foundation. (Chapters 794–798)
