Qinghua Xue
Qinghua Xue is the hidden prodigy of a declining branch of the Blue Flower Family. Her first real battle against Xiao Mo Ge reveals power greater than her celebrated brother's, while defeat exposes her lack of experience and draws her toward the opponent who challenged her. She later chooses Zuo Mo over the Council of Elders, receives the complete Blue Flower inheritance, and becomes one of Mo Cloud Sea's major experts.
Biography
Hidden talent and first defeat
Qinghua Xue initially conceals her cultivation because she prefers peace and avoids public conflict. Her brother trusts her judgment more than his own, but even their father does not know how far she has cultivated the incomplete family art. When she challenges Xiao Mo Ge in the Ten Finger Prison, it is her first fight and the first time she releases Blue Flower without restraint. Her technique can absorb hard lightning and fill the battlefield with linked flowers, yet her inexperience becomes decisive: Zuo Mo's combined Great Day transformations sever her control, destroy every flower, and leave her unconscious. The loss demonstrates that deep solitary cultivation has given her power but not the reactions and adaptability of a practiced combatant. (Chapters 377 and 380–382)
Years later, Qinghua Xue joins the Council of Elders' mission because its target is Xiao Mo Ge. She recognizes him beneath the identity of Xiao Yun Hai, follows him, and instinctively blocks an attack on him before fully considering her own action. The confrontation also shows her development since their first battle: she is fearless, uses Blue Flower against an expert spear technique, and deliberately tests the skill she trained after defeat. Feng Xin Zi then assigns her to assist Xiao Yun Hai, bringing her close to Zuo Mo while mistakenly assuming her family and the Council can still guarantee her obedience. (Chapters 687 and 699–705)
Choosing Zuo Mo and completing Blue Flower
Qinghua Xue refuses Feng Xin Zi's request to advance the Council's interests when it would harm Zuo Mo, arguing that inherited power must be matched by responsibility rather than treated as a benefit owed to an inactive main family. Zuo Mo sends her to the Ten Finger Prison, where Pu Yao supplies the missing complete Blue Flower inheritance. Because she has accumulated skill for years without access to the later stages, the completed method triggers a dramatic advance. She then becomes the principal unrestricted fighter protecting Zuo Mo's movement from Bu Zhou City, using layered detection, restraint, suppression, and interference arts against a near-fanxu Kun Lun sword xiu. (Chapters 719 and 722–724)
She remains with Zuo Mo through the Grave Ghost Mound crisis, declines Ming Yue Ye's offer to become an assistant, and later returns from seclusion as one of the experts available to Mo Cloud Sea. During the Tian Huan operation, the narration places her among Mo Cloud Sea's remaining high-end manpower while Zuo Mo is absent. By Chapter 877 she can receive and report a request from the endangered Blue Flower Family; with Gongsun Cha's approval, she brings the family into Mo Cloud Sea, turning the branch member once undervalued by the family into the route by which it survives. (Chapters 725–730, 818, 831, and 877)
Appearance and personality
Qinghua Xue is tall, with glossy light-blue skin, amber eyes, long curled eyelashes, and an appearance described as exceptionally moving. In her first prison fight she wears a blue mask. Later battle descriptions emphasize long white fingers, a straight posture, and a calm smile rather than stable clothing details. (Chapters 377, 380, and 703)
She is serene, intelligent, perceptive, and unusually calm. Her quiet manner conceals strong curiosity and a capacity for decisive action: she crosses into mo territory to find Xiao Mo Ge, steps in front of an attacker by instinct, refuses political pressure without open anger, and stays mentally still immediately before combat. Her principal early limitation is not fear but inexperience. Even after gaining power, she can react late when an opponent abruptly retreats, showing that technical inheritance and mental composure do not instantly supply every battlefield habit. (Chapters 377, 380–382, 687, 699–705, 719, and 723)
Abilities and cultivation
Qinghua Xue practices the Blue Flower family's hereditary yao art. The source does not name her precise cultivation realm or state that she cultivates shen power; Chapter 728 explicitly says she has improved greatly but has not cultivated shen power. Her initial version is missing the final three levels, yet her long accumulation makes her stronger than Qinghua Zang Shui and able to use flowers for attack, flexible defense, absorption, and area control. (Chapters 377, 380–382, and 728)
After receiving the complete inheritance, she uses the Blue Flower Fulfillment Wrapping Technique to bind and damage armor, Blue Flower Bat to expose a concealed enemy with clinging blue fire, Bat Tower to suppress movement and slow ling-power circulation, and Blue Firefly Pounce to interfere with control of a mass sword technique. The arts work as a layered system: detection creates a target, binding restricts it, the tower suppresses it, and dispersed blue light disrupts the enemy's own force. Her limits remain personal experience and power scale; she fails to anticipate Lu Han's sudden retreat, and the text says she cannot help against the shen-power elders confronting Ceng Lian'er. (Chapters 722–723 and 728)
Relationships
- Qinghua Zang Shui: Qinghua Xue and her older half-brother are close. He relies on her cultivation judgment and emotional steadiness, while she understands that his public status hides insecurity and limited talent. She later refuses to bargain against Zuo Mo merely to obtain later-stage instruction for him, judging a calm ordinary life better suited to him. (Chapters 377 and 719)
- Zuo Mo: Their relationship begins with combat and defeat, which leads Qinghua Xue to study him and improve. She later recognizes him beneath a disguise, protects him, keeps his identity secret, and accepts Pu Yao's instruction through him. Zuo Mo initially keeps her close because she is an exposure risk, but comes to regard her as reliable and uses her as the principal fighter during his escape from Bu Zhou City. (Chapters 380–382, 699–705, 707, 719, and 722–724)
- Pu Yao: Pu Yao recognizes that Qinghua Xue's calm disposition and accumulated practice make her exceptionally suited to Blue Flower. He gives her the complete inheritance that her branch lacks, releasing years of stalled progress. (Chapters 719 and 722)
- Feng Xin Zi and Ming Yue Ye: Feng Xin Zi places Qinghua Xue beside Xiao Yun Hai as an intelligence opportunity, but misjudges where her loyalty will settle. Ming Yue Ye later offers Qinghua Xue a prestigious assistant's role; Qinghua Xue declines composedly and stays with Zuo Mo's side. (Chapters 687, 704–705, 719, and 726)
- Blue Flower Family: The main family undervalues Qinghua Xue while benefiting from the public success of her brother. Years later, political purges threaten the family and it appeals to her for entry into Mo Cloud Sea. She obtains approval for its relocation, reversing their original relationship without claiming leadership over the family. (Chapters 377, 687, 719, and 877)
Items
No personal weapon, talisman, armor, or other carried item is securely documented for Qinghua Xue. The blue mask appears in the Ten Finger Prison, where participants use constructed identities, and its later custody is not stated. Blue Flower Bat and Bat Tower are named manifestations of her yao arts rather than separately transferred possessions. (Chapters 380 and 723)
