Old Man Wu is the city master of Wu Ge City and head of the Wu Family. Caught between the Yin Tomb Guards and Hai Xin Bing's demand for the family's black nether mine, he offers the mine to Zuo Mo and asks that the entire family be allowed to follow him for protection. (Chapter 856)

He presents the Wu Ge Shen Methodology, which he has practiced longer and more skillfully than anyone else in the clan. Zuo Mo improves it, and the result moves Old Man Wu to tears and reinforces his pledge of loyalty. He also directs Zuo Mo toward Peerless Market and gives him Nether Ghost Yin Heavy Wood, a material important to the effort to heal Zuo Mo's companions. (Chapter 857)

Old Man Wu proves useful at gathering materials and information, reports that the family numbers 270 people, and arranges their movement with Zuo Mo's party. He continues organizing the group through the journey toward negotiation with the Yin Tomb Guards. (Chapters 859–862)

Appearance and personality

He is described only as an old man. Zuo Mo judges him personally weak but perceptive and farsighted. Old Man Wu acts decisively under pressure, readily commits his whole household to a new protector, and responds to the restored family methodology with deep gratitude and loyalty. (Chapters 856–859)

Abilities and cultivation

Old Man Wu is the Wu Family's longest and most accomplished practitioner of the Wu Ge Shen Methodology before Zuo Mo revises it. His practical strengths are clan leadership, intelligence gathering, and material procurement. Relationships

He leads the Wu Family and negotiates on behalf of all its members.
