The Masked Assassin first struck Zuo Mo outside Turtle Island so suddenly that the watching experts could not see his approach, attack, or departure. He withdrew into the cloud sea after the formation protected Zuo Mo, then remained nearby because his intuition told him that Zuo Mo would affect the matter for which he had been hired. The failed blow was notable as his first failure against a jindan target. (Chapters 489–490)

His employer's objective was the treasure of the Sun Shen Temple, and the assassin entered the temple when it opened. Trapped in the Aged Gold Secret Realm, he was forced into direct combat against a regenerating golden warrior, a situation that neutralized his concealment and exposed the style in which he was weakest. He nevertheless broke through and carried his employer out with his movement method. (Chapters 494–502)

The assassin later ambushed Li Shu's group. His opening attack broke through their initial formation, and his shifting positions forced Li Shu to spend the Blood Script Bell's power. He killed Lu Zhen instantly, but Li Shu's Skyring Blood Chime wounded him and made him retreat. Rather than leave, he concealed himself again and waited for another fatal opportunity. (Chapter 504)

That patience did not save him when the Sun Shen Temple's Golden Crow Restraint Light activated. The light immobilized him along with the other intruders, allowing Zuo Mo to strip him of his possessions and take even his trademark mask. The scene presents him as incapacitated and robbed, not killed, at his last appearance. (Chapter 506)

Appearance and personality

His defining feature is a pale white mask that conceals his identity. He is controlled, patient, and professional rather than indiscriminately murderous: he ordinarily kills assigned targets and rarely attacks unrelated people. His decision to attack Zuo Mo without a formal assignment shows how much he trusts the intuition built through his career. (Chapters 489–490)

Abilities and cultivation

As a jindan sword xiu, he specializes in concealment, infiltration, sudden lethal attacks, and extremely fast movement. His reputation places him seventh among the jindan assassins of the Four Realms, and his record includes killing the yuanying Long Hong five years before the Sun Shen Temple expedition. His ghostlike repositioning and serene point of attacking light can overwhelm formations and defensive talismans when he controls the engagement. (Chapters 489, 504)

Open, face-to-face combat is explicitly his weakest mode. Strong formations can deny him a second attack, environments such as the Aged Gold Secret Realm can make concealment ineffective, and broad defensive or restraining techniques can wound or immobilize him even after he penetrates an initial defense. (Chapters 490, 500–506)

Relationships

The unnamed middle-aged man is his employer and an established working partner; the assassin protects him during their escape from the Aged Gold Secret Realm. Zuo Mo begins as an intuitive obstacle rather than an assigned target, but becomes the person who survives his ambush and ultimately takes his equipment. Li Shu and Lu Zhen are later opponents, while Long Hong is a famous victim from his earlier career. (Chapters 490, 502–506)

Items

The pale white mask is his trademark and the only clearly identified personal item. Zuo Mo takes it, together with the assassin's other unnamed possessions, after the Golden Crow Restraint Light disables him. The source identifies him as a sword xiu and depicts his attacking light, but does not name a personal flying sword. (Chapter 506)
